I don't feel "guilty" for liking any musicals and no one should. But the one musical I like that many don't is Mamma Mia. It's a fun time

Yeah that's what I meant really. I didn't mean feeling guilty just what is your favourite musical that not many people like :) I probably should have rephrased it

I love Mamma Mia, it's just pointless fun. Also...this is pretty embarrassing...but I enjoyed certain parts Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Although the costumes looked pretty cheap, the show had some visuals that I thought were mesmerizing. Other than that it was a very boring and tedious show.

To the OP: you chose your words just fine.  The well known phrase is exactly the way you worded it:  Guilty Pleasure.  You are guilty of finding pleasure in something few others do.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Rockabye Hamlet (only because it is reviled by virtually everyone except me, and I actually thought it was terrifically exciting - having seen it FIVE times! )

To Jay

I am with you on Rockabye. Saw it and was like nothing I have seen then and since. Have a live audio of the show and a 10 track LP of songs from it. I also have a cd of an opera Jones did on Marilyn Monroe called Hey Marilyn. Where is Encores when you need them?.

Mine is more movie musicals than stage musicals, but: Xanadu and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band. Yes, the 1978 movie with Peter Frampton and the Bee Gees. I was 14 years old at the time and thought Peter was the cutest thing ever.

If I'd seen it as an adult who knew anything about the Beatles I probably would have been appalled, but as a teen I thought the use of Beatles songs in the story line was pretty clever.  And hey, it had Earth Wind & Fire and Aerosmith in it, so...

I don't know if I'd  put Rock of Ages in the category of a show not many people liked, since it was a huge hit, but it's one of my favorite shows.

Hedwig is a great musical though. Don't be guilty about loving something which is truly generational, phenomenal, and fantastic! :)

Mine's Legally Blonde too. OMG you guys...
