Posted: 5/4/05 at 9:27pmOh...my...god...this is not good. First, LOTR is becoming a musical...then Finding Neverland. Trust me when I say I love the movie, but making it into a musical is so strange!

Posted: 5/4/05 at 9:42pmI think it would be a lovely musical. I for one am quite excited about it. I mean, look at The Secret Garden. I think that musical came out just fine.

Yeah, I am spiteful. Knee talks with Playbill, but when I request an interview - nada. Oh well. I'm still intrigued.

Yeah, cause James Barrie was Irish....jeez people, wake up. It even says in the article that he was Scottish.

Agreed. It was a play before it was a hit movie.
It was a book before it was a play.
It was history before it was a book.

Posted: 5/4/05 at 10:36pmI would rather have this movie a musical than legally blonde or any stupid movie. I think it has a very compelling story that could be told through very touching and moving songs

Posted: 5/4/05 at 10:54pmWell being that the movie was based off the play The Man Who Was Peter Pan i think it would work as a musical...alot better than lord of the rings would.

I suppose it could turn out well... however, the stigma it will have to overcome is in the form of the exact reactions of many people on this board: "Great. ANOTHER movie turned in to a musical because the people on Broadway these days don't seem to have any originality."
We'll see where this goes, I guess. I just hope they don't do a rush-job on it and force it out before it's ready all in the name of capitalizing on a movie title that's still relatively fresh in the public's mind. Do it slowly. Do it well. I, personally, am willing to wait.

Who cares where the idea of a musical comes from as long as it's good...musicals have been inspired by all kinds of things over the years...books, plays, movies, people's lives..do we ever complain oh great another musical based off a book?? no...i say if it's good i don't really care where the original source came from.
