I'm with you, Whisked. I've always called an RSVP line for union screenings in the past.
I sent an email to that RSVP email address, but I'm not sure whether to expect a confirmation or whether to just show up! If anyone gets any kind of response from them -- let us know!
glad to know im not alone, lol. hope we both get in!

Aw man, I don't belong to any unions. That's a shame because I'd really love to attend this screening.
For all of you are planning on attending congrats and enjoy!

I am a member of the IATSE and I wonder if that union affiliation will work, or does it have to be SAG,DGA,WGA only? I rsvp'd and asked that question in the email but did not receive a call back. Should I try showing up and seeing what happens?
I think its just for SAG/DGA/WGA/AMPAS etc. I don't think stage unions like Equity count, because these screenings are usually in the guise of attracting movie guild votes. Is IATSE at all film related?
Fridays screening is full. They will be adding more. I will post as soon as I know.
IATSE might be okay - a lot of film crafts unions are part of it. Don't know how specific they get about the various branches though.
They are adding a screening for Monday night. As soon as they post the rsvp and location info I will post.
OH THANK GOD!
If anyone can clear up the question of bringing guests let me know.
ONE GUEST. So two of you can go.
does my guest also have to be union affiliated and 18+ ?

You act like if you have never been to a industry screening and I know you have. No your companion does not have to be union. Justthe person making the reservation.
Sorry I was just checking. I really haven't been to many and the people I brough were all SAG so I didn't even think about it twice. I'm done with my questions
No prob. Are you a member of Sag? If you are.. you should look into joining the film society.
Yes I am a member but I got my card when I was 6 and stopped auditioning around age 14 so I really haven't been too involved. I kept paying the dues and felt like a fool doing so, so I put my membership on some sort of hold status. I'll get it straightened out tomorrow if I have to for the screening but I know that I'm still a member. I did do the film society thing one year... but most of the times that I have gone to screenings I have been the invited not the invitee. :)

My dad was a member of SAG before he passed away - I wish that counted.
Alas, I guess I will just have to wait until the 23rd.
I guess all of these screenings mean they are pretty confident in the end product?

I got my confirmation, but I'm not going to be able to make tonight's screening. My confirmation said it was for one ticket, and that seating was first come, first served. Nothing mentioned about guests...

I'm getting the runaround from SAG about whether or not I can attend the screening with my membership on hold. I can go and pay $100 and become an active member again but that just seems even sillier then continuing to pay dues when I don't really audition anymore. I'll have to get this straightened out or at least find someone with an active membership to take me by the time an announcment for Monday's screening is made. Ok, rant over.
There will also be several screenings of the film next Saturday the 12th.

I'm confused by this thread. I have an invitation to this screening tonight that I received in the mail and it's for me and a guest and includes a cocktail reception afterward. I was unaware that non-invitees would be present. I don't plan to wait in line.
I know that there are also press screenings of the film next week and the week after if any of you have media connections.
I did not RSVP in time for tonights, and I cant make it next Saturday unfortunately, but maybe I could try to get into the Monday screening.
I'm going to an Academy screening this Monday. I'll post my review afterwards.
DAME - did I miss the info for Monday? Oh well... maybe 23 will have to be my lucky number.
Who went?
