Allie Trimm, who is 14, is playing the love interest of 20something year old Matt Doyle? Isn't that against the law?

I sort of hate this whole like casting actors age appropriate. I would rather have a 24 year old in the role of a 17 year old because they're more capable of hitting the notes and doing the acting. But whatever. This is going to be a big YAWN.

ljay, that's exactly what I said.

Trimm is 14 and Doyle, who is playing Hugo, is significantly older than that.

How they're expected to play opposite each other realistically is beyond me.

I'll probably see it once. Won't rush to it

But Funk looks younger than Doyle?????

There is kissing though....both Birdie and Hugo kiss Kim. (at least I think Hugo kisses her near the end when they get back together.)

Kinda icky.

This is a great cast . I do think the Doyle and Trimm thing is interesting. We will see how it all works out next season. Like said before it has the potential to be an absolute hit.

Exactly! You should let Roundabout know that as long as they get a good set, they don't need to worry!

I'm just saying the material is good and so is the cast, as long as they have the proper set design the production will be solid.

As has been said before - this cast is creepy. Not saying they're not talented. But the age difference is creepy. Yeah, Elvis was ten years older than Priscilla (he was 24 when they met) but no one had to pay to watch them on stage.

The material may be good (which it was, 50 years ago); the cast may look right (just like Mary-Louise as Hedda), but that doesn't mean, even with a good set (which, given Roundabout standards will either be mammoth or non-existent), the production will be any good.
