I think re:Tarzan, the guy in black was AIDS, and he was infecting the others by writing on them, and then they in turn infected others. But then they fought back against him, and took off the shirts with writing to show that they were fighting AIDS (finding a cure?), and then they formed the AIDS ribbon.
I saw it on Tuesday as well. I sincerely hope that Marc records that song. I was crying, and I want my mother to hear that song. It was excepetional...thats one of those songs that changes something inside you. I want to thank him for those words.
"Hold up your head. Never be afraid to shine. Viva la difference in my body and my mind. All out with loneliness Such a waste of time. Come in from the outside" ~ Taboo
Marc: Your song was one of the few that my friend and I were still talking about through dinner afterwards. All we kept saying was that it needed to be recorded somewhere. We both got the chills and barely kept from crying. Such an amazing song! So well written. Please let us know if it ends up on the bc/efa website. I really want my family to hear it.
liotte: Not to sound like I'm just jumping in and agreeing with you, but I sort of thought the same thing. Wasn't sure and didn't want to get laughed at . . . but I really do think it was supposed to be some sort of representation of people getting infected with HIV/AIDS and fighting back.
"I wrote a book: "How to Be Popular". Now I've put together a top ten list of how to help you:
-Elphie, everyday... shower. I mean, who knows? Maybe some of that green is gonna come off!
-Deodorant Elphie. No body likes a stinky witch!
-I think we've covered the hair, we'll get to that.
-Clean underclothes. That's all I'm gonna say.
-Look at your posture. That's no way to be popular!
-Bed made, room straightened. We've done that.
-Colors blended. Oookay.
-But the most important thing to have, to make yourself popular, is to keep your beautiful smile."
~Kristin Chenoweth in her last performance of the song "Popular"
The HAIRSPRAY skit used "I Can Hear The Bells" and Diana sang a portion of that to a Disco track. She and the skit were terrific.
Marc, thanks for posting, everyone i have talked to were so moved and all our friends who have departed would be so proud. Updated On: 12/6/06 at 11:30 PM
