bwayrose7 - Ok, maybe some people pile on a bit about their dislike of "Glee" but wouldn't it be a boring thread if everyone was gushing about how wonderful the show is in every post. I have been one to disagree about the "tribute" episode because I feel it is being done for ratings IMO. I have also mentioned a way to pay tribute but not being a bit crass. I will also say that myself and many others liked the show in the beginning but then the show changed and not for the better IMO. Finally, if you think people are mean of this thread you should have read all the things said about "SMASH" which IMO was a better show with better performers than "Glee".

bwayrose, can you tell me how much time it takes you to write a post on a message board? 15 or 30 seconds? 2 minutes at most? If you think that's "so much time," then I fear you are very mistaken.

yankeefan7- I probably should've been clearer: It's not that I think people ought to either be happy peppy cheerleaders or keep their mouths completely shut; I'm all for criticism! I guess it just puzzles me when it turns into outright sniping; why would anyone waste their time? Like I said, maybe I'm just naive, and I certainly didn't mean to upset anyone. It's just an interesting dynamic I'd noticed, and I got curious.

And just for the record, I too loved the show to start but feel it's gone downhill; I still have some affection for it but I'm under no illusions as to the quality :)

Quite frankly, it's all in good fun. It's very easy to make fun of Glee, and we all kind of bond over it. Like a family bonds over that bItchy aunt they all hate Glee Appreciation Thread

Lea Michele spoke out about this week's episode. It kind of leaves a sour taste in my mouth now. No issues with them doing their own thing. But, I think a whole episode for a fictional character who was not in a lot of last season is weird. I could see 1 song or something.

Watching the promos, the fact that they used an entire section of students lockers to make a memorial (blocking students who actually go to that school from getting into their lockers) is beyond rude and thoughtless.

But think of the quarterbacks, Jordan!! We must never forget all the quarterbacks in glee clubs all across this country!! :'(

I'm glad Lea Michele is now emotionally ready to give an interview the week the tribute episode airs.

Lea actually said “For me personally, I’ve lost two people: Cory and Finn.” Is that a joke?

Agree and it is not realistic. Many years ago when I was in HS, a very popular guy who was one of the football stars died tragically in auto accident. There was very little public display in the HS of his death. The mourning was done outside the school at wake/funeral and visits to the family. I think the only thing done in the HS was that a couple of girls put a couple of roses by his locker.

But this is glee... Think of the ratings and the fangirls! I won't even bring myself to watch trailer for this "tribute" episode. And Lea Michele is proving once again that she is a selfish little brat that will make everything about her. She could probably find a way to make the starving children in Africa about her if you have her a chance. Her and glee are a match made in heaven - they're both selfish, arrogant, and ridiculous.

Though never a fan, I never understood the ridiculous hysterical hate directed at LM. Especially by a theater crowd who you would think would embrace her like Megan Hilty rightfully was. Now i dont know if this is true, but I heard Diana Agron was NOT invited to attend supposedly due to Lea and producer Ryan Murphy Seriously RM, GROW THE F UP. Again, I dont know if its true but if so that is Fd up. If anyone shouldve been its Quinn. She was his original GF, had his baby and their storyline was the focal point of the first and by far best season.

"The insider reveals that Monteith’s girlfriend, Lea Michele, and co-creator, Ryan Murphy, ”intensely dislike Dianna and have both worked to marginalize her as much as possible.”

“They never saw her as a team player,” the insider added.

“They simply did not want her sharing the glory for this very special episode.”

If this part of the story is really true, that is a sad commentary on them both as human beings. "Sharing the glory" - OMG !!!

On Glee Forums they have spoken before of Ryan and Diana having some kind of falling out, its nothing new. Diana was invited by Lea to attend Corys memorial service so they seem ok. Diana was busy with promo for her new movie 'The Family' so some put her absence down to scheduling issues and others put it down to Ryan.

As for earier comments on Lea talking about losing both Cory and Finn I see nothing odd in that. Most of the cast and crew have commented in a similar manner.

"Jenna Ushkowitz ?@JennaUshkowitz
Tune in with all of us tonight to say goodbye to our friend Cory and our quarterback, Finn."

Dot-Marie Jones, talking about The Quarterback -
“It wasn’t just writing, it was a family member. We weren’t just portraying something in a script. It happened in real life as well. Yeah, it was Finn in writing, but it was Cory. That to me was the toughest part. I have a really amazing scene with one of the boys and I don’t think I’ve cried that much ever, other than when my dad passed 39 years ago.”
I am still blown away by Lea. She’s stronger than I am. I love that girl. I always have such admiration for her and respected her so much. It’s tenfold now seeing what she’s going through and how she’s taking care of herself. I pray to God she’s taking care of herself. I’m sure she is. She has a good group of girlfriends and friends and, you know, that’s so important.

Mike O'Malley on the Ellen Show -

"I think that the writers—Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan—have taken this incredible task, which was to write a story about a character that passed away and yet honor the actor and really show the audience the love that the cast and the crew…had for him," O'Malley said. "It was a really remarkable episode. I think it's one of the most beautiful episodes they've ever written on that show, and I think one of they've written some beautiful ones."

You mean Queen Lea actually got off of her throne and did something civil? Shocking.

Marnie2: I totally agree with you about the dual Cory/Finn thing. As people, of course they'll miss their friend and costar, but as actors playing characters, I wouldn't think it odd that they missed having "Finn" around as well. As I've mentioned previously, while I recognize the difficulty of the situation from all sides and the questionable quality of the show as a whole, I think tonight's episode will feel different simply because of the reality behind it.

Mike O'Malley's interview is actually airing in my timezone right now and I'm watching it- he really is a class act, and he's saying some very kind things about Cory, the show as a whole, and tonight's episode.
