Yes, but the character of Putzie is named Roger in the original show. It was changed to Putzie by Allan Carr when he adapted the original show's book for the 1978 film version. Bronte Woodard wrote the screenplay.

I am very much aware. This television adaptation, though, is based on both the original musical AND Paramount Pictures' 1978 film, so I don't know why there is confusion. They are clearly just using film characters/names for the television version, which is a Paramount Television Production.
I don't know why they haven't officially announced their casting but from sources involved with this production, Olivia Newton-John will be playing Principal McGee and Kevin Jonas will be Teen Angel. Just checked and IMDB already has them on the Cast listings.

Just because it's on IMDB doesn't mean it's true. It also originally said Billy Magnussen was rumored as Danny and that turned out to be false.
Why not slip Laura Osnes in there somewhere so we have a trifecta of Broadway Cinderellas? Lol.
I'm really looking forward to the production, especially if they restore some of the stage songs cut from the film. On that note- did you guys hear about Jessie J performing the title song on the telecast? I think she'll kill it (in a good way)!
anyone else disgusted by the casting of Mario Lopez in this??
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Ouch! More validation that NO ONE saw the 2012 film adaptation of ROCK OF AGES where Julianne was the female lead and sang more than a handful of songs in the film including "Harden my Heart" and "Shadows of the Night."
No. She has a very thin shrill voice. For an example, you should watch Rock Of Ages Movie. She us the worst singer in that cast and that is saying something. She us a great dancer though and very pretty, I will give her that.
