I'm actually NOT entering today, but I wondered if those who successfully entered were given a time when winners would be notified? I read through all the FAQ but couldn't find it.

I think that falls under the same legal rules as a website asking for that when you enroll to make sure you are over 13. That said, I wouldn't put anything in there that makes you 13+, since they are going to check your ID before giving you your wristband/tickets, so just to be safe...

"You will be notified via email within a few minutes of the closing time listed for the specific lottery you entered."

Ah now I remember - I think I read that in the FAQ but wondered what the closing time would be. Thanks. I saw someone said closing was 4:00 so that must have been posted when the lottery went live.
After I get the green check mark confirming "I am not a robot" (sigh....hate), I hit the blue enter tab and nothing happens. Very sad that my knowledge of street signs, popcorn, mountains, and lakes is all for naught.
I have been getting "Service Unavailable" all morning; I've looked about 8 times since 9:30am. Craziness! lol. Will try again later in the day and hope to at least get through to be able to enter!
What do you do? Realize that this isn't your only chance to do the Hamilton digital lottery and try again once they've purchased another server with the profits made off a couple t-shirts and a mug.

No, I'm not concerned about it that much. (I know I'm likely not going to win anyway) But should I reenter for tonight or not bother? Like would I get penalized if for some reason they saw I had 2 entries even though it was a computer mistake?
From the website: "Winners will have a 60 minute window during which they must claim and pay for their tickets with a credit card online. Tickets not claimed in this manner will be sold to the cancellation line in person at the box office."
With this new digital format and people entering just because they can, I wouldn't be surprised to occasionally see lottery seats go unclaimed and end up on the cancellation line. Think specifically of suburban teenagers who wouldn't have been able to go to the in-person lottery on a regular basis - now they enter online, potentially win and mom/dad says "no way you are going to the city tonight."

Seriously? No one has been harmed nor has a damage claim. So no, they cannot get sued. If over time the problem persists and lottery seats are going unsold (and are instead sold at full price to the standby line), the State might have a fraud claim, but ticket buyers have no claim.

That's just silly. They are not prohibiting anything. The server went down. It's a technical issue not some sort of conspiracy to prohibit anyone from obtaining tickets.

You won't be penalized, enter again. They know people are having issues.

I'm not suing anyone lol but like other person said, crazier things have been sued over. It's a contest and everyone should be able to enter otherwise it's not a fair contest. All you would need is a bunch of clients and proof of being unable to enter during the time period. The main issue is proving damages since it's a $10 ticket but if I were Nederlander, I'd go back to the old version until I had a server as big as the earth bc this could turn into a mess.

A lawyer might see it differently. It's an interesting legal query.

Lawyers see a lot of things differently :)
I tried to read the Terms and Conditions on the lottery site but that particular page won't load. But at least this Disclaimer is at the bottom of the page:
Limit 1 entry per person, per performance. All lottery prices include a $2.00 facility fee. Ticket limits and prices displayed are at the sole discretion of the show and are subject to change without notice. Lottery prices are not valid on prior purchases. Lottery ticket offer cannot be combined with any other offers or promotions. All sales final - no refunds or exchanges. Lottery may be revoked or modified at anytime without notice.
I think that last line covers everything, probably including a downed server.
