"Due to overwhelming demand, all available tickets for performances February 11 thru March 9 are now SOLD OUT. Therefore, the general public onsale will no longer be going ahead tomorrow [Friday December 20th]."
SHOCKED if this doesn't extend at least 3 weeks
"
I'm sure the cast have other obligations and this was just a package deal to do a filming. Eva and Amber are both directly coming off Broadway runs and starting here with not even a 10 day rest period.
All 5 only extend if enough money is thrown at them. If anything, Reeve does a short extension out of all of them.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
So it was officially announced yesterday that this will be filmed.
From the press release:
"The producers of Hadestown have announced today that the acclaimed West End production will be filmed live at the Lyric Theatre across three performances, Friday, February 28th and both matinee and evening performances on Saturday March 1st. There will be 2,000 tickets in total available to purchase for the filmed performances, with tickets on sale tomorrow (Friday January 31, 2025) at 12pm at uk.hadestown.com."
"To prepare for the filming, performances from February 25 - 27 have been removed from the performance schedule. The producers have noted that there are currently no set plans or dates for the release of the film version."
I thought this sounded like a pretty big press release for an unknown result. If you're going to make a big deal out of it (and don't get me wrong, I'm happy this is happening) you should be able to tell us the major points about it. Like when or how.
I realize these things take time (We still haven't heard what going to happen with the Merrily pro shot filmed nearly a year ago.) but why make a big deal out of something that might turn out to be fruitless.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

edit: so this is usually to say, unless it's a HUGE deal, they don't usually have distributors lined up immediately"
Ah thanks, was just wondering what came of the Merrily pro shot the other day
