Sorry if I missed a post, but has anyone listened to this yet? I find it absolutely beautiful and the new voices (especially female Hermes vocals but even the two leads) make it a must-listen. Hadestown fans are quite lucky with both the OBC and this recording now.

I’ve listened to what they have of the second act on there about 100 times now.
Its embarassing that a live recording is so incomplete in 2024 when space is absolutely not an issue.

Obviously it was a decision they made not based on space. It’s what they did for the NYTW recording too. That being said, I really wish we had the full show of both.

Can’t figure out why this needed to exist.

I wasn’t sure either until I listened to If It’s True.

I understand not wanting to have every note of music on the album, but no "Hey Little Songbird"? No "Our Lady of the Underground"? What's going on here?
Painfully incomplete for no real reason. How do you not have Doubt Comes In. Not having the single most important moment of the show is so insane to me. I just don't get it.

If it were something like Taylor Swift, I'd say they're specifically holding back tracks to release a bonus disc later to juice album sales, but seeing as cast albums rarely make it onto the charts that's doubtful. I understand there's a physical limitation on CD/vinyl, but why not release a complete version on digital?
Anyways, I like some of the new interpretations (though the accents take some getting used to), but I don't think they'll replace any of the other recordings for me.
Finn’s interpretation of ‘If it’s true’ is a gut punch.

I like the Orpheus and Eurydice in this but I don't love the Hermes. She plays it a bit too angrily/intensely for me. I know there's a huge variety in this role, though and that doesn't make it bad, it's just not my favorite take.

Can’t find the other West End thread but Theatreboard is implying the OG’s may be taking over in London (and potentially more).

Delete. Double post
Supposedly so they can film a proshot with the OBC leads. I’m curious if this would be for one of the NTs filmed presentations.

That would make sense. Could release this spring (if the rumored closing happens in NYC).
For five weeks only.

Wowwww lucky London! I’d be thrilled if they film it, I have to imagine that’s the only reason they’d be all back.

How much money did they throw at them all for this to happen?
Oh dang. That's amazing that all five are coming back. I wonder if they'd be able to get them to also close out the Broadway run whenever that happens.
just got an email ---- Presale started today --
"Due to overwhelming demand, all available tickets for performances February 11 thru March 9 are now SOLD OUT. Therefore, the general public onsale will no longer be going ahead tomorrow [Friday December 20th]."
SHOCKED if this doesn't extend at least 3 weeks
90% of those tickets will probably be on Stubhub or whatever is most used to resell in London.

I'm sure the cast have other obligations and this was just a package deal to do a filming. Eva and Amber are both directly coming off Broadway runs and starting here with not even a 10 day rest period.
