I found this, not sure how reliable this is

5. Disney is not expected to censor Hamilton, but rather put a warning for strong language.
Unlike rumors in the theater world, Disney is not expected to censor Hamilton on its streaming platform. Producers hinted that the movie will contain several warnings for strong language, but the audio track, which was presented to Disney in late 2019, will remain untouched. The same will go for the home release of the production, which is expected to be released in 2021.

Some of the other things in that article seem untrue, so not sure how much faith to put in that

I'm part of the Hamilton facebook group, and someone with authority on that page said that the show would be shown AS FILMED. There will be no censoring of any kind. How many times does someone have to say this before people believe it?

Probably until someone with actual authority says it. Not someone saying they heard on facebook from someone who says they know.

It was an admin for the group who had authority on the matter and kept telling people that it would be shown as filmed. I believe them. Why is that so hard for everyone else to do? There are people with connections to people in the know on facebook groups. They do have creative members of shows in Facebook groups, and I suspect this person was one of those people. It seems to me like people want to be told it will be censored instead of believing those who say it won't be. WHY?

Some people like an official announcement, it's really not that deep.

And the last thing we heard from Lin implied there would be censorship. I admit it seems like it's going to uncensored, but I'll believe it when I see some sort of official announcement

Exactly. Only the powers-that-be at Disney know whether or not it will be censored/muted. No one else actually knows.

can you just imagine who would take the time of their day to write an official announcement about this of all things because of 10 people with too much time on their hands?

It's a lot more than a small amount of people. Everytime I discuss the upcoming release the question of whether it will be censored comes up. People asked Lin as soon as it was announced whether it would be uncensored or not. Putting a line in a larger press release would be pretty easy to do.

It's good to finally know.
The first one, in "The Battle of Yorktown," is not all that important.
The second one, in "Washington On Your Side," is more of a loss. It will be more noticeable because it's not there than if it had been.
But we'll all survive, even if it's annoying. I do want an unadulterated version of the show at some point.

So what you're saying is someone actually DID give two sh*ts about the censorship on Hamilton: Lin.

So, it looks like that social media confirmation was inaccurate. Shocking. I love it when someone who acts like they’re the only person who knows anything on this board puts their foot in their mouth.

I was wrong-- just read his tweet and it looks like he gave two f*cks instead...

Well it turned out to be bull**** so......

What is the third F word? I can't think of it. Only the Yorktown and Washington On Your Side ones come to mind
Posted: 6/22/20 at 6:50pm
"SIT DOWN JOHN YOU FAT MOTHER FU*$ER!"
But, that is already bleeped in the show. They are using ALL the sh*ts though, which is awesome.

Slightly otherwise related... anyone have trouble using Disney+ due to sound giving out? I have a smart Samsung t.v. with a GE sound system. No problems with Netflix or Amazon Prime. Just wondering...
Thanks!

I'd be surprised if they did mute it.
This is no longer Walt's Disney. Far from it. It's about money. It's about the latest flavor of the month. LMM fit right into that as soon as he became such a Broadway phenom. I'm sure Disney has had its eyes on him for a long time now.
Besides, you have kindergartners throwing f bombs around now. You see parents dropping every obscenity known to mankind around, in front of their kids.
Why would this be a shock if they let it ride unfiltered?
