Holiday Inn to be streamed live on BroadwayHD on January 14th

I searched and didn't see this news posted, so forgive me if this has already been discussed. I was just on BroadwayHD's website and came across this.

Can someone fill me in BroadwayHD's pricing? Their website doesn't make it clear and I don't want to create an account/sign up just to find out.

Yawn. I hope BroadwayHD is able to partner with some other producers soon. Maybe it's easier to work out a contract with an ostensibly non-profit company like Roundabout, but of all the productions to preserve. This? Really?

I'll forever wish this had happened with Roundabout's The Apple Tree.

Why was that, if you don't mind me asking. It's no ground-breaker but it seems rather inoffensive to me (someone who is generally against these American Songbook 'jukebox" shows).

i still dream someone someday will do a new studio recording of Apple Tree with Kristin Chenoweth...just for the fun of it really. Sure it's not necessary and the show is dated and creaky but it's still a fantastic score fifty years later (i rank it probably right below She Loves Me as Bock & Harnick's best). Can we please petition PS Classics to call Kristin along with Brian d'Arcy James and Marc Kudisch and make this happen already.

Can they just revive the apple tree with the same cast, again?

Well, this is still a better choice than The Cherry Orchard.

I found this show to be utterly charming, and I'm excited to see it added to BroadwayHD's catalogue. I hope they continue this relationship with Roundabout.

It is a bummer that this relationship wasn't forged earlier so they could have preserved Cabaret but She Loves Me was just beautiful and Holiday Inn is a popular title at least so it will no doubt spark interest if nothing else. I've yet to see it so I'll definitely be watching this live stream.

Falsettos is apparently getting filmed in January. I don't know what for. Maybe live from lincoln center.

I heard from a friend, who is also a member of this board, that they apparently did film a performance of Falsettos without an audience. He also made the point that filming it without an audience with giveaway for close-ups. I don't know when this would have been or anything like that.

This has me so intrigued. I really hope they stream this one or give people outside NYC the opportunity to see this amazing production. I'm going back for my second visit to Falsettoland next week and cannot wait!
