Like others have said, I love understudies and think they are extremely talented. However, I’m not going to pay Hugh/Sutton prices for an understudy.
All of that to ask: can I exchange tickets again? Can I do it online/phone so I don’t have to train in to the city?
When Hugh was out we received an email notifying us we could exchange but nothing for Sutton. Any insight is appreciated!

Try calling Telecharge-Customer Service. Tell them you would like to purchase new tickets ( same deal as the 1st set) for a new date because you are unable to go to the earlier performance. But before asking to buy new tickets in your behalf ( they can do that), ask them that if after the new tickets are purchased if you can have the older tickets cancelled. That way, Telecharge suffers no potential loss and you can move to the preferred date. I have done this before and I did get a favorable response - of course I do not know if all agents will treat your case similarly. Be sure that they agree to a cancellation AFTER you have purchased the new set before buying the new set. No harm in trying.

Thank you for all the helpful responses. I didn’t realize Sutton was not officially over the title. I’ll see what we can do!
Did they alternate who played Marion this week?

Audrey Cardwell and Kathy Voytko split the role this past week and The Music Man social media accounts highlighted each one.
I recently bought tickets to a future show and wasn't happy with the seats so I was able to call Telecharge and rebook my seats. They had me purchase new ones online while they stayed on the phone with me. Then I provided the new confirmation and they cancelled my old order. The entire process took less than 10 minutes.

Hugh and the entire company will be out of THE MUSIC MAN next week. Everyone is going on a break! They are not selling tickets for the entire week.
They do deserve the week off - it is a very physically-demanding show.
It seems there is another week soon when they are not selling tickets (Sept 5-12). I have no idea if it will also be a break for everyone. Hugh Jackman is likely going to attend the premiere of his new movie at the Venice Film Festival and at the Toronto International Film Festival. It is called THE SON, from the same drama trilogy of playwright/film director Florian Zeller ( 2020 Oscar winner for screenplay for THE FATHER) but not a sequel to The Father.

The same can be said for most major musicals on Broadway.

Do productions pay rent to the theater by month? If so, I'm guessing MUSIC MAN will still have to pay rent for next week even though they won't have any performances. Then again, when they have grosses of roughly $3 million a week, I think they can afford this 1 week break.

Good question!
Their total gross receipts from the first preview up to the end of this week ( 256 performances) will likely pass the $ 100 million mark...so they can probably afford it
Rent is rent. They have a lease. Even if they don’t perform for a full month they still have to pay the theatre rental for that entire month. Your landlord doesn’t waive your rent for those 2 weeks you weren’t in your apartment when you went to visit your sick aunt in Ohio.

The Music Man has gone DARK this week. Everyone has been given a week break.
Is this usually done? I remember that the theatre went dark, too, when Hugh Jackman had to take his breaks during the run of THE BOY FROM OZ.

This happened a few weeks ago at Mr Saturday Night when Billy Crystal went on a vacation.
Max would have been great. How lame.
