Lazarus crossed my mind for the Booth as well.

Boy do I have a definition of "hilarious" that's really different from Jeffrey Katzengammeridious. Like, to me "hilarious" has to be funny. Any queen not trying to play straight could come up with something legit hilair in her sleep compared to that Reedle embarrassment.

I just thought that Riedel's writing about his plans of being the prompter police was funny.

Re: Lazarus, Sophia Anne Caruso posted a photo on public media the other day of her signing a Broadway contract...anybody know if that was for Lazarus or something else?

Does Lazarus have any chance of make money on broadway? Didn't most critics and audiences find it a rambling mess?

To all stars who know that they will be working on a text heavy play.....start learning your lines right after signing your contract. To greedy producers....enough of the 60 minute shows....people are not going to pay top dollar for that. Unless it stars Jake Gyllenhaal. This guy is fugly and unappealing - who the hell wants to look at him live.

If Anne Hathaway weren't pregnant and had the time in her schedule, this would've been perfect for a transfer of last spring's Grounded. Given how well it was received off-Broadway, it'd be a smart Broadway debut for her and could have been as short of a run as she'd like at this rate.

The March 27th closing would seem to indicate that another show is going to sneak in before the Tony cutoff, but I highly doubt it. Marketing a show takes time. I wouldn't want to be the producer who has to fill a Broadway house eight times a week starting one month from now. Unless a really big star is involved or the show is super recognizable, it takes time to build an audience.
I think what's much more likely is something along the lines of the last two Jim Parsons shows. A big star in a very limited run that opens around Tony time and closes by Labor Day.
That being said, my dream of impossible dreams is that someone with very deep pockets transfers HIR from Playwrights Horizons.

Yeah, but Jeffrey, it's NOT funny. Anybody with eyeballs knows when an actor is using crutches. Little schoolmarm/hall monitors like Reeedull are unnecessary in any capacity.

She's currently working in another Broadway show. Poke around the forums and you'll be able to figure it out. Not stating it as to not spoil the show she's in.

I'd like to know who thought Forest Whiatker in Hughie was a good idea from the beginning.
I'd love to see Lazarus take over the Booth.

What does this even mean? And if it's already on a thread somewhere, why not restate it? These boards are not a place to be cryptic for the sake of being cryptic.

Shhhhhhhh. Secret.
I'm telling all y'all, I saw it, I loved it, but Lazarus is NOT a Broadway property. Those of us who saw him in The Elephant Man saw all the Bowie that should ever be on the BroadWAY.

Not trying to be cryptic Broadway Concierge. Her role is pretty vital to the play she's in. Didn't want to say the name of the play in case someone was going to see it.

Not to mention that van Hove is currently working on The Crucible, which is brand new. He's already had an exceptionally busy year, and I can't imagine he'd want to also have to retool Lazarus for a Broadway transfer while still getting Crucible up and running.

I've a feeling the dreamers don't want a retooling.

If this is Dear Evan Hansen, I'd be very happy, and it would play well in that space.

Wouldn't Dear Evan Hansen logically move to the Helen Hayes because of Second Stage owning it?

While it is true that Second Stage does own The Helen Hayes, it seems that they have been renting it out to other productions. First there was Dames at Sea, now The Humans is playing there. The impression that I am getting is that they are doing (at least for now) what Roundabout has been doing with The Sondheim. That, while they do own the theatre, they are renting it out to other productions as well as putting their own shows there too.

Ah, that's very true, Islander_Fan. I just figured once The Humans finished up their limited engagement, Second Stage would just slide Dear Evan Hansen in as their first Second Stage owned and run show. I could see Dear Evan Hansen working well in the Booth, but also in the Hayes.

That March 27 notice is tough tough. That's a month to load out HUGHIE, load in for LAZARUS, a few weeks for previews and open by the Tony cut-off date(April 2
. Would love it if it could happen.

Nothing can move in pre-Tony's. Shuffle Along, the latest opening of the season on the tony cutoff date is already loaded into their theatre and well into rehearsals.

I really think LAZARUS could succeed at the Booth as a limited run production. Michael C. Hall and cast gave amazing performances at the New York Theater Workshop.
