I still regret choosing to pass up the chance to see it. I would have loved to see how insane and silly it was!
sometimes i see a crate of lemons as i walk down 8th ave. and i think of this show. then proceed to laugh inappropriately outloud as i walk down the street prompting tourist to label me as one of those crazy new yorkers.
"the worst musical ever to be performed on stage, IMO"
That statement is pretty accurate.
Sometimes I think it couldn't have possibly been as bad as I remember, but then I remember getting angry at the people applauding after songs for prolonging the experience.

I was randomly thinking of the show this morning.

When I saw it from the mezz it was all camp and hilarious.
When I saw it from the orchestra it was more the "serious" side of the story.
I thought it was a trip.

My life's aspiration is to meet Doc Brown so I can see this show.
I didn't know what to think either. I thought I liked it because I was entertained for the most part, but than I thought about it and was like I really don't remember what happened and completely forgot what to think. I still don't remember anything about lemons except the giant one that was just there at the end. It was such a random show, I don't know how anyone could of thought it would of suceeded.
I found it boring.
(From what I gather, they "fixed" a lot of the things that people thought "silly," so by the time it finished its run, it wasn't even campy or bizarre anymore. That's when I saw it.)

Despite being TERRIBLE, one (well actually 2) of my favorite theatrical experiences in my life (no pun intended).
And to the "worst thing ever on stage" comment, have you ever seen Copacabana.
ZONACE, which one is the other fav experience?

no, i meant In My Life was 2 of my favorite theatre experiences cause i saw it twice (in previews)
I really REALLY wish I could have gotten up to New York to see this show. From what I hear it seemed like a very entertaining trainwreck. I remember seeing a clip of it on broadway.com with the guy dancing with the skeleton and all I could think of was "HUH??". I almost wish there was a cast recording so I could see for myself how bad the songs were.
I never got to see it, but when I listened to my CD sampler thinger I got handed on the street, the songs weren't too bad...
Yes, but didn't the sampler have Megan McGinnis singing that "when she danced" song and not that wretched child that sang it in the show?
I remember sitting there, in my ROW D CENTER TDF seats (never a good sign if you ask me) with my MOUTH hanging open for a good portion of the show.
And then trying not to laugh.
But failing during that part where the guy sang the song about drunk driving and killing the little girl - I swear to god there was a line like "next time I'll look for the yeild sign" or something.
Though I do remember thinking, through a fog, "That Chris guy is really talented, I hope he gets to do something else..."
