I wonder if we'll see incidents like this one on Broadway and if theater staff are prepared to address them if they do.

Can someone summarize what the incident was? The article has a paywall.

Seems kind of a waste for them to have security guards if the theatre has a “no touch” policy.

I hope they made a mental health arrest and transported her to a hospital for further evaluation.

Nope. She got a ticket for trespassing and was let go. She was permanently banned from the theatre. That’s it.

Don't understand why it lasted 30 mins. Police out to lunch?

I think they need to reevaluate their no-touch policy. People like this are being ratcheted up by our heinous media just like in the Rittenhouse case to go out and inflict violence upon anyone they disagree with. Mark my words, this country is in for a terrible dark time, and Broadway is not immune.

Guards should have tranquilizer darts at the ready these days.

I hope someone is helping her seek treatment somewhere. What a deranged woman

I work for a major corporation and all management team members and any staff involved in the planning of meetings and events are undergoing updated crisis management training in anticipation of participants unexpectedly disrupting proceedings.

Perhaps a nervous breakdown of sorts. Sad if that was the case.

Was she attending the performance alone or with other people?

The Guthrie could have been padding the audience by giving tickets out on the street. I know theaters will do this when audiences are slight depending on the producers. Bat Out Of Hell for example gave out tons of free tickets in Times Square.
Sometimes when patrons leave at intermission (this would not be the case here) they hand their tickets to someone hanging around outside.

The Guthrie has limited runs and tens of thousands of subscribers. They’re not giving out free tickets to opening night on the streets of Minneapolis. Also, the article clearly states the incident happened before the show began, not during the second act.
