Who knows? Maybe Disney will make Sophia Grace look older and taller like Warner Bros. did in the 19 Years Later scene of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2'.

Little Red in those official storybook illustrations could still be 13, when sexual awakening often begins.
She looks about 7.
How can you have the "excited and scared" lyrics if its not about the excitement of sexuality?
Oh I don't F*CKing know. Easily? The only thing you've ever been excited & scared of was sex? Really?
And like I said, fairy tales still had real world rules of age and society.
You know I think you just want them to deage everyone in the film for looking to old and looking for very stupid excuses to justify it.
And maybe Meryl Streep is/was sorta beautiful but she's not what I would say is a beuaty. I still think they should digitally work on that.
And they can digitally alter her to make her super model beautiful? Yeah no. They can deage her, which is pretty pointless.

I think I do because I'm not incredibly stupid. If you have to age someone up and make them taller then you what? You don't cast them. It's a very simple decision. Comparing it to Harry Potter is incredibly dumbfounding considering it had to be done to actors you've known for the last 10 years plus almost 20 more.

I just want to say that I am very much looking forward to hearing Meryl sing "Stay with Me" and "Children Will Listen" after watching this.

Will the Witch still be singing "Children Will Listen"? After all, her character is long dead by time it comes up in the film.

^Yes, the Witch will still have the song?

^Hmmmmm. We'll see how they make that work...
How they described it in the script, it sounds breathtaking
Mery'ls voice on Children Will Listen should be terrific. She's always sort of had a "Judy Collins" type voice. And on that song, it should be magic.
Here's a nice little consolidated "medley" of all the principal film cast and their singing voices.
INTO THE WOODS - Movie Cast Singing Voices
Any word on who's playing the other supporting roles?

The original key of "Stay With Me" is kind of a bitch to sing. I assume it will be lowered for Meryl.
I'm sure they'll adjust the key for Meryl, however it works best during the rehearsal process.
I'm also curious about the additional casting, especially Granny and the Steward. Both are decent roles, and since they're already in rehearsals, I would think they'd want to cast them ASAP.
Also the Baker's Father. He has only the one scene (replacing "No More"), plus the flashback turing the Witch's Rap, but still, I'm sure they would need him soon.
As for Cinderella's Mother, that's more or less a voiceover with CGI for the image forming out of the tree, from what I can tell. I still want Victoria Clark to do it.
The Baker's Father and Granny could both be "celebrity cameos" if they want to go there.
I don't remember, but does Cinderella's Mother sing in this version? I remember reading the script and Cinderella At The Grave was cut, but does the singing when the Prince goes off with the stepsisters ("Look within the shoe, etc.) still remain?
I just took a glance at the script again, and I think you're right! She doesn't sing.
She does speak when the prince rides by with a stepsister (bleeding from her shoe). And she speaks in rhyme, which is what fooled me. The text is not in ALL CAPS, which in a musical screenplay indicates singing (lyrics).
So I'm pretty sure she doesn't sing at all!
She just speaks, ""Look at the blood within the shoe. This one is not the bride that's true."
If The Baker's Father is only in the one scene, I'd still love it to be played by Sondheim.
^I would love that, I wouldn't be suprised if Betty White ends up being Granny. One more question best12bars since you glanced over the script again: Are the giants actually seen, or just heard like the stage production ?

I'm guessing with a British gal playing Little Red, her Granny will have to be British as well.
I'm hoping for Angela Lansbury.
As for Sondheim, I would LOVE that ... but the father is relatively young in the opening flashback, and it's the same father (who abandoned the Baker) that appears for the scene at the end.
I wouldn't be surprised if they cast someone young ... in their 30s or 40s.
Ah. Well it was a nice idea. :)
As for Granny, Joanna Lumley or Jennifer Saunders would be a hoot!
Oh, yes! Or Dawn French or even Julie Walters (if she would take such a small cameo).
EDIT: And if Bernadette Peters can manage a British accent well enough, she would be wonderful. I love her "little old lady," from Sunday in the Park to Carol Burnett Show. And she would be a terrific "good luck charm" from the original production.
Actually, Bernadette would also be a great choice as the voice of Cinderella's Mother. She's done a bunch of voices for animated stuff.
And she could do it all in a day's work.
I know this isn't necessarily her "type of role", but we can never forget Julie Andrews. I think it would be absolutely hilarious seeing her pull off such a role
I love that idea, too!
Plus she has such a huge connection and association with Disney.
She could do either Granny or the voice of Cinderella's Mother.
EDIT: Of course, I would love Julie Andrews to say the opening lines, "Once upon a time ..."
Those lines belong to the Baker (which makes sense in the current screenplay). Still, to hear her voice speak them would just be magic.
