Well there goes my dream of seeing Kate Baldwin as The Baker's Wife and Lauren Worsham as Cinderella.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Hardly Aged? I love bernadette to but we need to realize she does not read THAT young. Plus a thing of youth and beauty? youth certainly not.

I think Jane Krakowski would be a wonderful witch! Is she enough of a name? She has had quite the career but it might not be "big" enough for what they are looking for.
Laura Osnes would be a great Cinderella. As would Sierra Boggess I think, but if "Rebecca" does well enough, she won't be available.

So excited for this! I agree with the idea of Sara Ramirez as The Witch. Not that I'm biased.
But, I would totally be willing to buy a ticket to see her.

I would say Ramierez is fair less of a name than Krakowski.

I don't know all they said was a name.

Are you serious? WAYYYYY more people watch GREY'S ANATOMY than 30 ROCK, and aside from 30 ROCK, a small role on ALLY McBEAL, and some Broadway shows, what would people know Krakowski from?

Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."

It's true Grey's Anatomy has more viewers than 30 Rock, but Krakowski is higher profile on her show and has received multiple Emmy nominations from it, so I'd say it's a toss-up between the fame level of the two ladies. I'd also say 30 Rock has more of the audience The Public would want to attract (it's one of TV's most popular shows among the rich).
I tend to think they're aiming for movie star, though, I bet there's a ton of high profile film actors who'd love to play the part.

Yes many people may WATCH but it's for Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, Eric Dane, and most of all Patrick Dempsey. The majority proably couldn't care less about seeing Ramirez in new york though she would be devine. Also Ally was very popular during it's time, and krawoski was nominated for some awards during it.

To use your own logic, how many people watched ALLY for Jane Krakowski?

True and good point AC, but krawoski went on to capitalzie further after allie building a similair TV guest star route to one peters had back in the day. She also had a nice hit on the adult contemporary chart during ally. Something ramirez can't boast even after the ridiclous greys musical episode pratically shilling the thing out.

I'm one of the people who watches Grey's Anatomy for Sara Ramirez. The rest of the characters could all die off, but if Callie did, I'd be very upset.
That said, I was just agreeing with others who said Sara. I was debating her name status.

I personally would not consider either Ramirez or Krakowski to be a "big name" by Delacorte standards- now Catherine zeta jones IS a big name that I could see being heavily considered.

Hmmm. CZJ. I know many people hate her on here. She'd be stunning in act 2, but she may need the Vanessa Williams keys.

Yes because everyone needs to hear the witch sung by a woman with the voice of a goat.
I would say they mit try to get Hathaway if she's not busy, for bakers wife or witch. Then you have to factor in Zeta- Jones grave inconstiencies on stage, you have the potential for genius every night but also the potential for a big hot mess. Plus after seeing her send in the clowns on the tony awards that various media outlets blasted, i doudt it.

It's funny you bring up CZJ, Michael Bennett. The Witch's wig after she's transformed looks exactly like CZJ's Velma Kelly hair. Throwback? She would actually be pretty ideal for this particular production.
And I absolutely love the idea of Laura Osnes as Cinderella. She's one of my favorite actresses working right now.

Les Miz has a tentative Christmas release date. It seems almost certain that Hathaway will be filming all or at least part of the summer. (And SitP shows usually have long rehearsal periods)
CZJ would certainly look stunning as The Witch. That's all I'll say.

I know that there's going to be a lot of people who will not like his idea, but Stephanie J. Block said that she's always wanted to play the Baker's Wife in this show. Maybe, this will be her chance.
