Her performance in The City Of Conversation was one of the best things I ever saw.
Twice.

NOOO!!! That hurt. She was incredible in Follies. I always wanted to see her in something else, but never got a chance.
My condolences to her friends and family. Such a tragedy.

Too bad she never did prevail at the Tonys despite five nominations.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the news. This is a horrible loss for the theatre community.
On a personal note, Miss Maxwell's performance on the 2011 cast recording of Follies is one of the reasons I fell in love with the show. I remember listening to it every morning on the long drive to school. It's one of greatest regrets not to have seen that production live. Her Phyllis certainly was one to behold - she, along with Alexis Smith, really understood what the role was and had the ability to knock it out of the park. She will be missed. Sending lots of love to the family.

I'm shocked and truly devastated! I adored Jan's performance in Follies (Lend Me a Tenor, too). I'm so sorry for her family, friends, and colleagues.

Her performance in Follies was one of my favorite performances by a leading actress. An amazing talent, and I wish one of those five Tony nominations resulted in a win. Such a loss.
