It seems that my favorite television comedy star, Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory, is joining the upcoming THE NORMAL HEART, along with Lee Pace (formerly of Pushing Daisies). http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/03/07/jim-parsons-and-lee-pace-join-cast-of-normal-heart-on-broadway/?src=tptw

I'm not a fan of Jim Parsons, but I think Lee Pace is terrific. I really enjoyed him in "Pushing Daises" and "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day."

This revival now has me so excited that im booking to fly from the UK to the US to watch it
Fantastic news, love both of them! I was waiting for a discount to pop up, but this announcement made me shell out the cash for a full price ticket (ouch). For me personally, this is definitely becoming one of this season's most anticipated shows.

I'm really excited about both. Has Cheyenne left the room?
Looks like I'm going to have to get there towards the end of the run...too much going on in April and May.
The article states that Lee Pace will be playing Bruce. I think he'd make a better Felix than Cheyenne Jackson (who would actually make a good Bruce), but I'm sure Lee will be dynamite. Bruce has a rather incredible monologue in the second act I'm sure he'll knock out of the park.
Is it a limited engagement?
I can't believe I won't be able to see this!...
I hope they won a lot of TONYs... and wait for me in the Fall.

If it extends, Parsons won't. He probably has to be back to BBT by late July.
And yup, it's running through July 10.

I literally just squealed when I found out Lee Pace would be in this. LOVE. THAT. MAN.
I just bought my ticket for April 27th!

So excited about Lee Pace being on Broadway. And what a play for him to be in. Although, if I were casting, he wouldn't be my first choice for Bruce. I too think he would make a much better Felix. This will be interesting though, and Lee Pace is an amazing actor. I have faith he will make it work.

I thought John Benjamin Hickey was playing Felix... not Cheyenne Jackson.
I could've sworn it was announced Jackson was going to be Felix, but I can't seem to find the article in which it said he was cast.
It announced Jackson as cast but not as a specific character. People on BWW speculated that he would be Felix until John Benjamin Hickey was announced as Felix. My money is on Cheyenne as the "narrator" figure that they are writing in.
Everything I read said that Cheyenne had been in the original reading and was reported to be in talks for Broadway, but nothing stating that he was cast in the Broadway production.
Not at all a fan of Parsons, but I'm excited about Lee Pace.
Cheyenne tweeted yesterday:
Cheyguynyc - Cheyenne Jackson:
"4 those who asked, due to my 30 Rock/GLEE schedule, I'm not gonna be able 2 be a part of "Normal Heart," but wish "Merde!" to all involved."
In the Playbill announcement for Parsons and Pace, it says that John Benjamin Hickey will be playing Felix.
Ah, this is the article I was looking for that led me to believe Jackson was playing Felix.I missed the subsequent casting announcement.
