Hedwig isnt closing after JCM, there was a press release that said a representative for the show has confirmed someone else will be coming in after John.
also why would the shuberts put pressure on them to close before the TONY cut off, this show is still making solid money.

I also LOVE the schedule they have for JCM. Tue-Thu @ 8pm; Fri & Sat @ 7pm & 10pm. That's the schedule this show should have.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

What the heck has the Tony cutoff have to do with anything? IF they closed, it would give another show a chance AT a Tony noms. it's not like Hedwig is eligible.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Um that was the point the poster was making

Yup! Since it is his music!

I'm really surprised Trask isn't involved (assuming that he doesn't have a scheduling conflict). It's a marketing bonanza, the co-creators of Hedwig live on stage together!

Noooooooooooooooooooo
I leave NYC on January 19th. This is like my worst nightmare.
_______________
Unless you're out of the country, do a weekend trip to New York during his 8 week run. I sure would!

I'm actually curious to see if and how his performance is different. Not only is it so many years later, but this production is a different production. And while he worked closely with Mayer on the changes, there were definitely some changes. So, I'm curious to see how he incorporates them.
One thing that might change in the opposite direction is he will likely do less climbing all over the set, as he's said it exhausted him just to watch...

He talks about that a little in this article.

Just bought my ticket- in reality, I'm sure I should have found something cheaper, but for once I valued being as close as I can be. And I'm so happy I can see this show at 10pm, which seems right for it.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

God, this could finally be enough to get me back to NYC. Wow.

Bump
Ahh so excited! Does anyone know if the show is going to be changed for his run? For example, is he going to do everything that NPH and Andrew Rannells and MCH do? (I get minus maybe some of the physical aspects) What I mean is like in the beginning when Hedwig is lowered down, I wonder if they'll still do that or have him just come up the aisle as sort of an homage to the way john cameron mitchell came to the stage originally

For JCM's first performance, there appear to only be a few premium orchestra seats and two side orchestra singles ($162 each) available, at least according to the Telecharge pick your seats chart.
I notice that JCM is reverting back to the old downtown schedule of two shows on Friday and Saturday nights and no matinees. I wonder how that will work on Broadway.

Unfortunately, I stupidly bought a ticket to that performance. I think I'll invest in earplugs.

It will be adoring and loud, but it's not like people are going to keep screaming the whole time and not listen to JCM.

I snagged myself a front row seat for the first 10pm Saturday show. I was looking at seats for his first week and jumped at the chance. Definitely a huge dream of mine to see him in this. So excited.
