Anyone seeing the show tonight? I'm taking some out of town guests Saturday - would be interested to know if anyone was back on/still out tonight.
It isn't going to be life changing either way, I'm just curious. Anyhow, my main interest is seeing Felicia Finley do her thing again.

I THINK Laura is going back tonight. I'm not positive.
I love the show, but I recognize that it's not for everyone. In fact, I don't think a show exists that everyone likes.
Laura and Amy were both sick yesterday, I think they are taking it day to day to see- from what I heard, they both have strep.
But Tina and Cara and both fantastic, and I love seeing them as Julia and Holly.

like I said- she looked 40.
Well, Laura doesn't look 40yo, to see her in The Wedding Singer is a delight. We already know you hated the show. No need to bash it anymore.
I saw it on Thursday night as well and absolutely loved it. At first I was disappointed when seeing the "At this performance board..." (Especially when we first got there and only Tina was up, and about 10 minutes later Cara was added.)
But I can't say enough good things about Tina and Cara. Especially Cara, I loved her as Holly.
I know the show definitely wouldn't be for everyone, but me personally, I can't wait to see it again.
taboo- Laura must be a pretty amazing looking 40 year old then.

I saw Wedding Singer dusing a matinee. I went with really low expectations because, after all, it's not like it's Sondheim. To enjoy that show you have to appreciate the era (80's) and like the movie. Don't go see it just because you like one of the actors because I don't think any of them are given a real opportunity to shine (although Spanger was a lot of fun and energetic and Saldivar clearly enjoys his role and does it very well.)
I like Stephen Lynch because his story, a comedian with absolutely no real acting experience, is a fun underdog type story. For someone with no real credits or training, he excelled and made his Robbie Hart charming. I think the more he does it the better he'll get. I hope he continues to do stage work because I think he could be another Boyd Gaines.
I really, really didn't like Benanti in the role and I agree that she's too ols for it. I've never seen Tina Maddigan but everyone here seems to love her so maybe I'll try to see it again. I just didn't feel her love for or committment to the character the way I did from Felicia Finley, Spanger, Lynch and Salvidar.
Ever Have a Fling With An Actor?
I saw both Tina and Laura and they were both amazing, Tina has a more "girl-next-door" look, but Laura has a voice that can't be compared to many Broadway stars. They are equally great. Im so glad i got to see them both. They are very different playing the role. Tina does her own thing.

I realize that Stephen's completely new to Broadway and hasn't done much acting, but I don't know if I'd say he has no credits or training. I thought he majored in theater or drama or something like that in college, and did some shows at the Barn Theater, which I understand to be kinda reputable. I don't know, in any case I'm glad to hear he's doing well.
I absolutely love this show! It was my first broadway show in NY I fell in love with the show and the experience on broadway! Can't wait to go back it was such a fun show!

MistressoftheHouse, I was thinking the same thing. He sort of fell into being a comedian. He said he did it on the side to make money to get himself through school and it sort of took off. He was always interested in doing musical theater, it just so happens he got sidetracked. (on a side note, Jason Mraz was the same way - though he hasn't done anything yet).
wow, I'm not the only one who thought the show should have been nominated for lighting design. When I saw it in previews I left going wow, they need to win the Tony for lighting.
I think it's Laura's blond hair in the show that makes her look older. I heard her telling someone that they wanted her to have blond hair for the show to make her look plainer.

Rentboy, Jason Mraz did the same thing? I definitely didn't know that. Hah, and I saw Mraz in concert the same night I saw Stephen. Weird.

I had the same look on my face. Tell me about it.
Me too. It worked out though, because even the understudies are freakin' amazing.
