I can't think of anyone better to present the last award. She is really the queen of Broadway. What a delight, it's so good to see her again. A wonderful ending for a wonderful ceremony. The 60 stars that presented the awards were great. It really worked. The Tonys were very dynamic. Amazing!

I was so excited to see her there. That was really wonderful.
I agree, ladies. It was wonderful to see her there. This thread is a joy to read after all the terrible, rude and nit-picky things people are ranting about in the other threads
Thank you!
She's so classy. I actually squealed (which is the exact *opposite* of class) when she came on TV. I love her.

I love seeing her.
But she sort of depresses me. I think - "Dude, you're Julia Andrews! But you did The Princess Diaries...2. Why, man?"
Now let's wait for all the negative people to talk about her Eliza comment. LET IT GO PEOPLE.

It's hard to believe that she's been so egregiously overlooked as a presenter before.
Joe.
You rule my world.
O I could listen and watch her everyday
"but she sort of depresses me. I think - "Dude, you're Julia Andrews! But you did The Princess Diaries...2. Why, man?"
But honestly in that is probably the last time we will hear her sing so its special in many ways
Personally, I LOVE Julie Andrews and everything she's associated with. I didn't think Princess Diaries (either of them) was awful but to hear her sing again is well, priceless!
Seeing Julie was the highlight of the evening! She'll always be Maria to me and Victoria & Mary Poppins...she's one classy lady and extremely talented! I love Julie!!!
Given the number of times she has presented awards, and the number of times she has hosted the show, she really should be given a special "Lifetime achievement" Tony award.
Her grandstanding at VICTOR/VICTORIA may have cost her the one chance she had to win a Tony, but I would not want to see her win for her weakest show. Of course, she should have won for MY FAIR LADY but because the show opened after the 1956 Tony cut-off she was up against the 1956/57 season actresses (Ethel Merman, Judy Holliday) whose perfrmances were perhaps a little fresher in voters' minds.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

She's so classy.
That's the exact word for her I used last night. Classy. That's what she is!

I was going to have to go back and watch my tape, I didn't remember her singing!
I thought that she hated the Tonys after she was "egreciously overlooked."
Well, it seems she got over that incident, and thank god. She was back where she belongs!

Get the Lifetime Award ready NOW!!!! She is absolutely the most wonderful example of a Broadway star.
She is the best dame to ever grace the Tonys.
So, what does she sounds like now adays? I know that she can't really sing anymore, but are there any audio clips of how she sings now?

I can't imagine she would release anything of the sort. She has been so upset by the entire situation, which is understandable, her singing voice has defined her for most of her life.
Still she is practically perfect in everyway.
It's a very great loss. Her voice was magnificant.
I agree. Classy and beautiful.
