This sounds fascinating, to me, I'll definitely be there!

Lenk's version of "Pirate Jenny" will be haunting and devastating, I fear.

Oh wow, I am so here for it! Interesting that Barbara Walsh is playing Polly Peachum and that they have a separate actress for Young Polly, so I wonder how that split is going to work. Exciting that this also comes on the heels of a pretty high profile mayoral election too.
Who is directing? Walsh's husband?
Why such a short run? 10 days?
This is the first major new production/adaptation since the show’s original materials went public domain, right?

These are the credits they have listed:
adaptation and direction by George Abud
musical adaptation and orchestration by Jake Landau
choreography by Brianna Mercado
Starring Katrina Lenk as Pirate Jenny, Barbara Walsh as Polly Peachum, and George Abud as Macheath
With Paula Gaudier as Pam/Young Polly, Mahira Kakkar as Tiger Brown, and Aline Salloum as Mrs. Peachum
Abud seems protective. starring, adapting, directing ...
10 days. something seems off.

It's a small opera company in a small venue. Everything else they're offering this season is only running a couple of days.

It was commissioned by a small group, Off-Brand Opera -- nothing strange about it being a short run. And maybe because it's a short run they got such a stacked cast -- not everything has to have grand amibitions. More Abud is a good thing, he's a very talented artist.
You're going to see a lot of "adapted by, orchestrations by" attached to this show over the next decade. The German original score and orchestrations are EXTREMELY idiosyncratic, since they were written for a specific troupe of musicians who doubled in very specific and unlikely ways. All the more conventional arrangements of the score for a conventional pit band, and almost every English translation of the script and lyrics, are still under copyright.
Nice to see Katrina back in action.
George honestly should’ve been nominated for a Tony for his Marinetti.

Barrie Kosky’s revival was just at BAM earlier this year. But that was previously done in Berlin in 2021, before it went PD.

Definitely! She will also perform as Elvira in High Spirits at Encores! in February. She's my favorite.
