Keala Settle Back In Waitress?

Keala Settle played her last performance in Waitress on October 19 with Charity taking over the role. However, yesterday when pictures were posted of Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron attending the show, she was pictured in costume with Jessie and Caitlin. Does anyone know what happened, has she rejoined the cast? I checked her Twitter and she posted a couple times this week that she was 'back in the diner'.

I believe she was just there for the two shows yesterday.

Yeah, she wasn't there when I saw it on Friday. Weird that she would come back just for two shows.

Isn't she in "Greatest Showman on Earth" with Hugh and Zac? Maybe they wanted to see her in the role or she wanted them to come to the show and knew it would be fun if she did it for them? Something along those lines?

I imagine there was some crazy scheduling problem. Perhaps Charity already had the day off in advance and with vacation or illness the understudies and swings were all tied up in other roles. I remember this happened in Wicked a couple of times last year when they called Christine Dwyer back in for a few shows (and at one point a few weeks).

Yes Charity had the day off. Perhaps the fact that Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron were coming helped convince her. Lol. Plus it was her birthday I read.

Y'all realize Keala doesn't just decide she wants to come back cause her friends are seeing the show.  She's asked back by the producers, most likely due to some variation of what NJ_BroadwayGirl said.

I don't know if you were responding to my post but I never thought she just decided to come back. Obviously Charity had the day off scheduled and Kaela was asked to fill in. I was joking that perhaps Hugh was an incentive to accept the offer.
