Because we totally need this.

Why not make this all easier and adapt the Goosebumps musical that's already a retelling of POTO? They already have the TV show on Disney Plus, just make it a special episode.

Because that's licensing a product and POTO is in the public domain? They clearly intend for this to be something they merchandise and having a third party (scholastic) makes that difficult."

On the other hand, Disney already has a relationship with Scholastic and Goosebumps - they made a new Goosebumps show for Disney+ and Hulu just last year.

Eh. Why not? It's a timeless story. The worst it'll be is forgettable.
