Oooh I would go see Phantom again just to see Brent Barrett in the role. I really don't like the show, so saying that is big.
"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
Man, what an ugly website that is. The text is small and the gold on black doesn't make it easy to read. Even the blue text on the black background is impossible to read.
Edit -- I think Crivello and Barrett are great choices for Phantom, though.
It says Elena Jane Bateman is "direct from Broadway" but she isn't! I don't think she has been Carlotta in like 5 years on Broadway. Am I wrong?
Dean: Can I tell you something?
Lorraine: That depends on what it is.
Dean: I think you're really really pretty.
Lorraine: (after a pause) Ok, you can tell me that.
They've really puled in some impressive Broadwy talent, haven't they? Brent gets to do this, at last! Don't know the dates about Batman, but she is/was good. Also thrilled for Rebecca Spencer and Ted Keegan, both so right for this.
Looks like I should check my calender for a business trip in LV.
“This is a rare chance to go back and re-visit a work of art some 20 years after it was created,” said Prince, the show’s original director and winner of 20 Tony Awards."
20 Tony Awards?!?! Whaa?!?!
"Art is always in crisis: you must work fast to write in the breath on the window."

HELP! I've gone over and over that article and don't see any mention of Ted Keegan . . . is he in the cast and I missed it somehow....I would LOVE to see Ted in this cast.

Thanks LC . . . Ted Keegan AND Tim Martin Gleason reunited . . what a blast that is going to be. And to think the Strip is less the 20 minutes away! Yes, life is good.
The full-casting listing is not on the Official Phantom Las Vegas Website yet. It went out too late for the UK to put it online.
Ted Keegan - Ensemble / "Reyer" / "Phantom" U/S
Also, to the person that sees orange text on black on the official Las Vegas Phantom, I see white text on black background. Are you on the following site or the Official Phantom Musical (CMs) Website?
Hmm...Elizabeth Loyanco from The Woman in White...I wonder if she will make a good Christine...I can't quite imagine her doing the role...but i am sure she will be great!
ALWs Really Useful Group is based in the UK as is Andrew. So they run the official website. The PR firm is based in Las Vegas as is the General Manager's and Las Vegas Producers.
Apparently the PR firm forgot to send that part of the Press Release to the UK to be included on the official Website.
Yes....I would say....life is very....surprising. And to see Tim and Ted....together. Ted back in his original roles....'Reyer' before he took over the main role? This makes one wonder....Only 5 and 20 minutes away? How marvelous....I must make time to visit.....
This is a bit off topic, but I am not that happy with the marketing for Phantom in Vegas...I mean I guess I can see how it appeals to a tourist, but it looks very commercial, then again, Phantom is a very commercial show. I hope I don't get in any trouble for this.
What marketing? They have not even started advertising it except on the Venetian Website that I know about.
If you mean the logo, well they had to change it from the CamMac production as he is not involved in the Las Vegas production. Only ALW/RUG and Hal Prince are involved here. They also have a Las Vegas Producer and the Venetian Hotel. So most of the Marketing will be done by them I would assume.
All they have done is put out the press release nothing else has gone out.
If you are talking about the wording "The Las Vegas Spectacular" I imagine that was the Venetian and Las Vegas producers that wanted that on it, so it would be considered differnt from the original production.
Anyway, I am not fond of that wording, and I am sure ALW was not...but you have to give in some. He has been trying to get the show in Las Vegas since 1996. But you have to sell shows in Las Vegas.
Hairspray and other shows are newer than Phantom. After 20 years I think they just want to make it sound jazzy. From what Hal Prince has said it is not changed that much. He worked on the set design, and has been very involved in this production. He would not work on it if it were not Theatre. I have seen Chicago, Hairspray and Mamma Mia! they are from all i hear not that different from the original shows, from what I hear. Since I never saw them on Broadway. :)
Thanks for taking time to update everyone about what's going on in LV. I've learned over the years, that you really know your "stuff" LOL! When you first posted about John Goodman not doing Hairspray, I knew it was solid. All hail Carolyn!
