Good. Broadway doesn't need any more "American Idols". Let her get some experience and then, if she can act, she can try Broadway.

Good for her. I hope Broadway is her next stop . . . lets just hope her acting is half as good as her singing!
"I wrote a book: "How to Be Popular". Now I've put together a top ten list of how to help you:
-Elphie, everyday... shower. I mean, who knows? Maybe some of that green is gonna come off!
-Deodorant Elphie. No body likes a stinky witch!
-I think we've covered the hair, we'll get to that.
-Clean underclothes. That's all I'm gonna say.
-Look at your posture. That's no way to be popular!
-Bed made, room straightened. We've done that.
-Colors blended. Oookay.
-But the most important thing to have, to make yourself popular, is to keep your beautiful smile."
~Kristin Chenoweth in her last performance of the song "Popular"
I am so over this American Idol crap. Keep um off Broadway. I don't care if they do have the talent. The fact they were on a reality game show just lessens their talent by 100%.
Just because she can sing a few old standards doesn't mean she's capable of pulling off a Broadway show. I'm not in anyway implying she can't, but I don't think American Idol is the kind of standards we should have. We have no idea if she can be a great actress.
You are all so judgmental without having seen anything. She is wonderful in the show. She exudes lots of charm and sings like a angel.
Last time I checked Broadway was a big tourist trap with flying witches and crappy shows based on movies. So you all need to get of your high horse and stop being so full of it.
And FYI, Tommy Marquez has been doing theatrical costume work out here forever. He did the costumes for a weird little show I did back in '03, in fact.

thanks for sticking up for her Dame. I hate how people judge performers before they get to do anything. I think many American Idol contestants have futures on broadway, and usually broadway is a better platform for them than the popular music track. American Idol isn't just about singing, it has a lot of performance aspects in it (disregard Carrie Underwood winning). I'd be more than happy to hear Latoya, Jennifer Hudson, Katherine McPhee... in fact I think this idea calls for a new thread that will be started shortly after this post.
People just like to bitch and complain about whatever. If anyone is in LA the show is definitely worth checking out. The entire cast and band is top notch. And the music is great. It covers everything from the 60's.. My favorite was the Janis Joplin number.
