Take this all with a grain of salt- but it's my understanding that her stage venture has been put on hold for a more - personal project."
One similar to another leading lady who played her final performance Yesterday, correct?

Just as a woman observing another woman when she was on stage during the curtain call, she did look like she had what might be a small baby bump. If she suffers from severe morning sickness, could be the reason she was out early last week. If she is pregnant, I hope all goes well for her, she had a tough time with Ever. Happy for her and her family.

The fact that Julie ended up doing more performances that Beanie is amazing. Of course, she was officially named the alternate and given one performance a week when Michele took over for a whole year."
Julie also had the entire month of August before Lea took over.

The 182 is factoring in her August performances. Julie clocked in EVERY performance not just her Thursday and standby performances. ![]()

I was responding to a post that didn't mention August, just her being an alternate and filling in for Beanie.

The only sad thing to me is that her incredible performances could not be given at the very least a Tony award nomination.

Lea Michele Ends ‘Dream’ Run in ‘Funny Girl’ After Reinvigorating Show
The Broadway revival saw an immediate change in its fortunes when the actress stepped into the production last September.

Wouldn't the 7 shows Ephie did be because Julie could not?

Exactly. Julie was the standby, not an understudy. She had no other role in the show. Ephie was the understudy and played Emma in the show. She only went on as Fanny if Julie couldn’t.

Hmmmm…so will producers of the show to which she was committed hit the pause button or replace her? Their likely-favored second choice is also currently committed to another show almost certainly headed to NYC.

They would just wait 9 months . No big hurry for a revival of Chess.

Gosh, I feel foolish for admitting it, but I'm having trouble connecting the dots. Can someone spell out what the "personal project" alludes to?

Lea may be singing lullabies in less than a year.

Again- take this all with a grain of salt. My understanding is that Lea was NOT Florence in Chess- she was Svetlana. The role of Florence was being played by someone who has now moved on to a different project. Supposedly Ramin was going to be the Russian, but who knows if that's true.
Maybe we'll get Chess in the 2024-2025 season- gives them more time to try to do something with that book.

The mere thought of not casting Lea as Florence is crazy. Just the mere thought of her singing "Nobody's Side" gives me chills...
