Legally Blonde MTV Broadcast

What were the rights issues for this? Is it impossible to ever expect a DVD release (or even a Canadian airing?)

re: Legally Blonde MTV Broadcast

There was never any plan for a DVD & probably won't be another showing anywhere. There are numerous copies floating around on the interwebs though.

re: Legally Blonde MTV Broadcast

I'd just like a High Def copy without the MTV watermark at the bottom, and the stupid Hills girls.

Not gonna happen.

Odd they didn't work out any sort of rights--and too bad I missed the boat I guess (I've seen the youtube clips and man those Hills girls are awful)

It's pretty much the usually story, aint it? Haha.

re: Legally Blonde MTV Broadcast

Well... I do have a 16:9 hi-def/Blu-Ray copy of the one-time HD telecast they showed on Palladium HD, so yes... I do have it on HD. Unfortunately, the MTV watermark is on it as well as everything else you saw on the standard/regular MTV broadcast.

Can't Brody get a break?

NOT EVEN! re: Legally Blonde MTV Broadcast

re: Legally Blonde MTV Broadcast

There was someone selling cheep copies on ebay a few years ago on DVD minus the commercials. I think they got caught eventually, but it's a pretty nice transfer.

That was two years ago! Feels like it was yesterday.

re: Legally Blonde MTV Broadcast

They were only allowed to show the broadcast a certain number of times (wasn't it like, six or seven?) and after that last time was done, they weren't allowed to show it anymore.
Into the Woods, Beauty and the Beast, RENT, Mamma Mia!, Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde, Evita (with Julia Murney), Hairspray (with Paul Vogt), Peter and the Starcatchers (with Christian Borle), Lion King, Altar Boyz, Legally Blonde (with Lauren Zackrin).

Can't think of a reason why you would want it - even if the show was good (which it isn't) - the screaming brain dead tweens make it unwatchable.
