Anybody want to start a petition against closing legally blonde? at least til after the holidays. I'd gladly sign.
OMG you guyz. I totez didn't see this coming.
Damn double posts...
Tkts still bookable till Jan 4th! Take a look!
You need to fall asleep... and never wake up. Please.
Shows open - shows close - new shows open. The cycle continues. It's when shows continue for decades to appease non english speaking tourists that there is a problem.
I will sign a petition for it to close as announced.
It had a nice run - it's going - get over it.

i was in NY last weekend and talked to richy (sec. guard) and he said that the weekday shows are barely making it, of course the weekend ones are packed but weekdays are like dead
ah its so sad
it's just a show.
life goes on....
EXACTLY! Why this kids have to go and on and on about i'll never know!
Well, I'd love to see how you react if WICKED ever closed.
You'd probably go to the Gershwin and gun everyone down. Would do it "in the name of England" ??
Consider it...
Wrong! so wrong!
My usernme has nothing to do with loving the Broadway show. I wish to change it but I've been asked not to. Enuf said x
Oh I am so glad I am seeing the show on October 17th! First we had tickets to Xanadu on 10/17 then that announced its closing and we switched to LB.

When are Wicked And PHANTOM going to close?
When you start growing pubes.
when you never come back so hopefully...SOON.
*i really don't wish for a show to close/fail. just trying to prove a point
I had a feeling it wouldn't last to much past 2009, but not this soon. It was a fun show!
When you start growing pubes.
Looks like they have a good 7 years to go, seeing how "Notsocoolkid" is only 5.
seriously can we start a petition? i thought it was doing really well....
anyone going to the last show...i'm going to get tickets tomorrow.
Unless you have couple million dollars to invest in the show to keep it running, a petition is not going to do anything. I have to say that this surprised me. I knew Legally Blonde probably wasn't going to do well going into the post-summer slump, but I thought that they'd hold out until the holidays. The show was flawed, but it was still relatively enjoyable and I wish the best to the cast and crew. Unfortunately I won't be able to go to closing night, but I'll be catching the tour next week in Baltimore.

It hasn't been doing "really well" since Labor Day.
All my favorite shows just keep closing before my eyes.
"When are Wicked And PHANTOM going to close?"
Oh, in another decade or so .... maybe.
I haven't read any of the thread prior to this because I'm pretty sure it has degenerated into the kind of childish back and forth that happens in every single Legally Blonde thread ever posted on the board, and I'm not interested in getting into it.
But I am interested in saying how sad I am to see this gem leave the White Way. What a beautiful, fun, bubbly show! I saw the show thrice and loved it every time. I'm ecstatic to see a show like this finding a place on Broadway, and finding its voice.
"Legally Blonde" has done so much good for Broadway over the past year and a half that I have to give it major kudos. Thanks to its pop culture legacy and addictive soundtrack, LB did something few other Broadway shows have had the ability to do: cross over into mainstream culture and bring an entirely new generation of people to Broadway for the first time. Thanks in part to the MTV broadcast and the reality show, teenagers and college students made Broadway a must-visit location on their respective trips to NYC. I've told this story before, but I think it merits telling again: One night I was walking past the Palace and a group of girls and their boyfriends were standing outside after the show and talking about how they didn't expect theatre to be as fun as it was, and were wondering what other shows to see. I cut in and recommended "Spring Awakening" and "Avenue Q", and they went to check out what else Broadway has to offer. It makes me feel great to know all the good LB has done for Broadway, whether posters here would like to admit it or not.
So goodbye, LB, you will be greatly missed. You've been attacked far too often by trolls and pricks with nothing better to do than attempt to bring down a show full of spirit and vivacity, and I'm ecstatic to see the tour is selling out. It's the end of one chapter for the show, but the tour and revivals on college campuses for decades to come ensures that this isn't the end...just the beginning.
Wickedboy just because ticetmaster is selling tickets to a particualr date doesn't mean a thing. It is not the first time that a show has said that they were closing and that ticketmaster is still selling tickets.
... can a show unofficially close?
