I beleive that most touring shows have sets specially built as they have to load in and out of venues quickly - the physical Broadway set is a more permanent structure. Some of the larger Disney/Mackintosh/RUG tours have used Broadway-scale sets, but it's an expensive option....
Aw this is sad. I'm hopefully going to see the tour in July..best of luck to the cast and crew!
wow thats rather sad.
well i don't want to start a whole new post, so here's a vid of autumn hurlbert from legally blonde singing the national anthem. she's great right?

i guess this means she probably won't be getting the chance to play as Elle...unless Bailey and jerry let her, which i hope she would let her do it at LEAST once
If Gypsy closes next Broadway should be saved!
"How do you know for sure that the sets and pieces are going to the West End production? I would think they'd go to the tour production. Why not?"
First of all, the tour recently opened and already has a set built. The current Broadway pieces, more specifically the sorority house and staircase, are just too big to haul on the road.
Wow, Autumn is amazing in that video. I have no doubt she will find something on Broadway soon.

What is REALLY sad is for a show to play 18 months to good houses, sometimes to capacity, in one of Broadway's bigger theaters, and no recoup its investment.
Something is wrong with the basic formula these days.
This is too sad! If anything should go, it should be MERMAID. At least I can look at Legally Blondes sets and costumes without vomiting. And actually enjoy their choreography. They should have just moved it to a smaller theatre. The Palace is such a barn.

I'll be there.
I'm glad it did as well as it did and I'm sad to see it go. It was a great show.

i know a lot of people are looking for a dvd and im not putting links here because i believe thats illegal? but my friend is selling them for $20...PM me if youre interested :)
im hopefully getting tix for the 19th, but im definitley student rushing the weekend before..i heard a rumour also that theres going to be new merchandise for the tour (with beckys face on it) do you think theyll be trying to sell out all the stuff with lbbs face on it?
So does this mean that LB was officially (not recouping) a flop?
FLOP!

it was sold out for a while, but look how many shows are closing now - a lot of people are blaming it on the economy right now..i know its not a great excuse, but i truly believe that lb will never be a flop & if promoted more it could stay until the holidays (when most people will want to see it!) the audience is a lot of teenage girls, who have schoool during the week

While I didn't find it to be a MASTERPIECE, I thought Legally Blonde was an enjoyable day at the theatre and am very sad to see it go.

This makes me sad, it is such a fun show. Everyone who saw it with me loved it. =(
I just got my tickets for the 19th, I wouldn't miss it.

If you believe it is illegal, why are you openly posting info about bootleg DVDs here?
I'm sad that this show is closing. It is the most fun show I have ever seen. However, I am not surprised. I had a feeling it was coming sooner or later. I was hoping it could last at least until the New Year. I probably won't be able to see the final show. I really wanted to see Bailey as Elle. Hopefully, the tour will do well.

I called the Palace earlier today and they said they highly doubt Autumn will go on before the closing, I feel so bad for her.
I do feel bad for Autumn as well, but I am sure this is not the last time we will see her. I have a feeling she knows Elle wasn't her role. I mean it really wasn't. She just has a lovely voice and acts well. But she didn't look are act like Elle. But she is wonderful and I do think she will be wonderful in future shows.
