I was shocked at how bad she was (and Duncan) but the 2 were very good at the Launch. I have a feeling nerves got the better of them as there still in rehearsals and thats the 1st time they have performed it.
I don't think it helped having several cast members missing so Sheridan was singing bits that she would not normally sing

I'm pretty sure the male host was holding out his hand to shake the guy who plays Warner's and got DENIED.
Also this whole video is heinous.

I try not to judge by Children In Need performances, the sound is ALWAYS off, and if they're still in rehearsals they have to be given some leeway, it's not like a show like Priscilla or Avenue Q where they've had months to practice the tunes and choreography. Yes, Sheridan was off, and Duncan... hmm. But the ensemble were brilliant and I didn't think it was anywhere near as much of a car crash as people are making out.
In Sheridan's case I'll put the off notes down to nerves, as I know she can sing, and Duncan's role is small enough that if he is rubbish (which I don't think he will be) it's not going to be that noticeable. It's all about Emmett, anyway, not Warner!

They way they choreographed it one would think Elle ends up with Warner in the end. No Emmett at all

Eris, they're advertising the leads as Duncan (Warner) and Sheridan (Elle) to boost ticket sales pre-opening. Alex Gaumond is not a 'name' over here so he won't be focused on at all.
Re the age thing, Duncan is 31 and Sheridan 28. But since we won't have such sharp close-ups when the show hits the West End, I don't think it'll matter so much, either.

30 Rock should look at this and do an episode where Jane Krakowski goes into the tour as Elle.

Warner singing "Back the hell out of the way" ?
No.

No one should ever complain about Bailey Hanks' pitch problems after hearing that.
Was she singing Vivienne's part at the end of the Remix?

Seriously I momentarily thought it may be Jane in the video. But that would be hilarious.

Oh my god (you guys), Sheridan and Duncan were both... Wow. They sounded like kids in a high school show.
And Sheridan is blaming it on nerves?? She'd better work on that, because you cannot do live theatre if you get nervous easily.

By the way... they are using the US tour staging/choreography for that short bit of "Omigod". Did they eliminate the staircase for the London production as well?

I think it's reasonable to assume they didn't want to spend money trasnporting the staircase to the TV Studio. Logistically, it probably wasn't even possible to use it unless it were on the stage for the entire airing of whatever show this is.

I cant really judge and entire show on 6 minutes of performance that has come together before they've even set foot in a theatre. I think they did a great job, for the first time in front of audience. Sheridan was clearly very nervous, but it will all come together I'm sure. Laura Bell Bundy was hardy 18 when she got the part now was she? They haven't cut Ireland BTW just changed the lyrics and the set is a mixture of the Broadway and touring sets. To the segments detriment they did engineer the whole thing so the names got the exposure rather than letting Aoife and Caroline do their bits at the end of the Legally Blonde remix but ho-hum.

Elle is supposed to be 22, 23 at the MOST. Smith looks like she's 40 and her hair is oh-so-obviously from a bottle. That has nothing to do with how old she looks, that just irks me. Laura was 25, 26 when she got the part but she does NOT look anywhere near as old as Smith does.
Into the Woods, Beauty and the Beast, RENT, Mamma Mia!, Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde, Evita (with Julia Murney), Hairspray (with Paul Vogt), Peter and the Starcatchers (with Christian Borle), Lion King, Altar Boyz, Legally Blonde (with Lauren Zackrin).

I doubt it.
During the "Serious" scene I feel like I'm watching Elle/Warner twenty years down the road.
And is it just me or does the girl playing Paula actually look younger than Elle?
