Hey Guys,
I bought Les Mis closing night tickets the day it was announced! I am extremely excited for this event, and I was so nervous when the strike was going on because I thought they would just close the show early! Well, they didnt and I cannot wait for Jan 6th! I was just wondering if anything special happens during the closing night performance? Do you get anything extra? Do you see other stars and directors? How do you get to go to the after party? At the end of the show do you get to go up onstage? I was just wondering if you get any "extras" for attending closing night? By the way, tickets were extremely hard to get and there were not many due to family members and cast members from the past! Thanks guys and I really appreciate all your answers!
you get to wait 2 more years for another Les Mis revival! yay!
Was just on Telecharge.com and there are plenty of great seats still available for the final performance. Whoever gave you the info that tickets are extremely hard to get, is wrong.
I've been to a few closing performances....."The Boy From Oz" and "42nd Street." Both shows were like rock concerts.....various musical numbers literally, stopping the show and getting standing Os. There was no curtain speed at "42nd Street." The energy level was amazing for both shows!

You get nothing. Maybe a curtain speech but not usually for a run of only a year. I wouldn't expect anyone special to be there. Maybe Cam Mac but I wouldnt count on it. I doubt there will be an after party if there is, their not inviting you.

You get a playbill that says "Au Revoir"...Well that's what happened with the closing some years ago.
you sound like a hyperactive puppy
Anyways, there are plenty of seats left...I bought mine as soon as the date was announced as well though just in case!
As for your questions, there will probably be a handful of well known people in the audience that afternoon and the playbill may be different/special for closing night. As for the after party...you have to know someone involved with the show and be invited by them.
I doubt it. They only ran a year +. That special playbill was ending a 13 year run.
"may be different/special"
I don't know about "extras..." but you might get a nice closing speech from the cast. I hope you enjoy yourself and have a good experience!
This isn't tickets to the closing night preformance that they are selling on telecharge. This is tickets to the last public preformance of the show. That is on a sunday. They are then taking the day off and comming back to do the closing night show that tuesday. That tuesday they are not selling tickets for because that one is invite only.
Winston89, was the because of the strike? The closing date was announced before the strike happened. So, did this happen afterwards?

I dont believe it! Read any website the closing night is Jan 6th!
Any one want my crystal paper weight I got for attending an annaversary performance of "Beach Blanket Babylon" in San Francisco?
PM me.
My proof is that from a few weeks after they announced thier closing date. Telecharge had tickets for one other date other then the sixth. That was the 8th. They took that one down because they wanted to make it an invite only show. If that wasn't the case then they would sell tickets for that night and still let people come.
And the reason why they would do it with that schedule is simple. If they didn't take a break during the closing week of the show then they would go over 8 preformances a week and Equity would have a fit.

The final performance is January 6. There is no "Extra" performance. Load-out starts Monday morning.
And shows have performed 9-shows-per-week, even moreso, with special permission from Equity.

Do you think that Cam Mac will attend?
Wow. Calm Down. Breathe.
I've heard that the Broadhurst's side seats are really bad- is this true? How is the rear orchestra and the whole mezzanina?
PERformance, for God's sake. We tell you this every damn thread. The word is spelled performance.
The first closing was disappointing enough. At least this time they won't need to use another theater to watch the show on screen.. a provision for the many former leads who came from near and far.
Of course the biggest insult of all was denying JMark McVey the longest playing Bd'w Valjean, his request to close the show he kept alive for so many years. Au Revoir, indeed!

Depends, really. You can't see a damn thing from the last seats on the side in the third and fourth rows (C16, etc), but it gets better the further back you go, and the second and third seats in don't have as severely restricted a view.
Avoid rear orch at the Broadhurst; it's sold full price, but really ought to be restricted view because the mezz overhang blocks the top of the stage. And for Les Mis that means you'll miss a good chunk of the barricade scenes.
Front row mezz is about even with the tenth or twelfth row of the orchestra, so it's nice and close. Bring binoculars if you're going to be in the rear mezz, but there aren't really any nosebleed seats.
