"They are having another audition for Cosette, they just started taking submissions. So...they've put it out to an unknown.
Last I heard they had re-offered the role of Eponine to Evan Rachel Wood... after she gave an amazing audition, but if she doesn't do it, they are also looking at Taylor Swift.
They are looking for age 18 - 22 to play Cosette and they want Eponine to play 19. "
No idea who this poster is or if they have a shred of credibility. But - Taylor Swift??

No, this is not true. IMDB, like Wikipedia, is not a credible source. Heck, even when ROA was in pre-production there were a few credible sources saying T.Swift was being looked at for Sherrie and that was also a load of crap that ended up getting fans in a tizzy for no reason.
This is an Oscar-bait movie directed by an Oscar winning director, starring highly acclaimed actors. Taylor Swift will be no where near this. Moving along.

Swift did mention some surprise projects planned for 2012 and possibly some acting.

However, until we here some more news, we should just think that this a rumor.
I hope this is true. Taylor is so good at actressing.

The actressing won't matter if the autotune isn't turned up to 11. I've only heard Taylor sing live (i.e., live on TV) and I swear the girl is tone deaf.

I actually believe that poster - (s)he has posted info in the past that really sounds plausible. Taylor Swift has been nominated 146 times, and has won 92 awards so she can't be "tone deaf" - she has Grammy Awards, Country Music Awards, and American Music Awards. I'm not really worried about her singing if she was cast.
Her singing is terrible, accolades be damned.
watch it JP2. My old friend from high school is one of her back-up singers.

^ He should also be careful because my brother is in the same college fraternity as her brother and he actually knows him quite well. I've also seen her live twice and she sounds very good.

If she looked like Amy Winehouse, then I might think her success was a measure of her ability. But in this telegenic era, the fact that she's a very pretty girl probably counts for more than her ability to hit a pitch. (In fairness, I've also read that she is an excellent songwriter; myself, I never hear the end of her songs because the cat is howling and I'm holding my ears.)
Directly from the IMDb board...
"They just put out an audition notice for Cosette. Looking for unknowns in New York and L.A. Tara Rubin is casting.
working with her.
I don't know if Swift will get the part, but the director has been working with her..."

She's a TERRIBLE singer. Didn't you guys hear her sing "Tonight" in the VMA Side Story? She tried to belt it and it was horrendous.

Apparently Shailene Woodley auditioned for Cosette. Julianne Hough and Emily Browning auditioned for Eponine.
Hough's got a great voice. I could see her as Eponine, but Lucy Hale is still ideal.
Ashley Simpson told Taylor Swift she should definitely do a Broadway.
I heard they offered Madame T to Liza?

Oh man.......this better not be true.
"...what happened since???"
Don't you meant 'shince'?
Regarding Swift, I'm not a fan, but this seems like a high risk/high reward casting choice. It would draw a lot of attention from the rest of the cast, and most people would bring their preconceptions about her along to the movie theater. That said, I saw a 60 Minutes feature on her recently, and it portrayed her very favorably. She's very self-aware. She might just be able to pull it off.
After have seen her in the terrible Valentine's Day, I might actually state her being a part of it, could keep me from even giving it a shot.
A horrible performance in a horrible film.

I like Shailene Woodley's acting. If she can sing, I say go for it.
So Emma Watson apparently was offered the role and turned it down? Interesting.
Also, I thought Evan Rachel Wood was offered Eponine, not Cosette.
the girl simply can not sing. do we really have to revisit her awful take on "Tonight" from WSS.

Wow, ACL, that's even worse than when she sings her own songs.
And what the hell was she thinking, hanging out of a moving cab like that?

Weak voice and when I hear her sing On My Own I'll believe it. Of course I forgot to mention sing it well. Not good enough for this movie, try something else Taylor, sorry. And I haven't seen her acting yet but I am guessing her singing is probably a lot better.
