GLEE will sweep.

I have a horrid feeling Jude Law might sneak in there. I actually think they should introduce some sort of Best Ensemble award.
I predict Jan Maxwell will finally win a well deserved Tony for THE ROYAL FAMILY.
I don't know how good the new play LOOPED will turn out, but I'd like to see that in the best play category in place of RACE (with its formulaic-Mamet pretense of saying something interesting and enlightening)
Or she could win for the role of Maria in Lend Me a Tenor (for which Tovah Feldshuh was also nominated in the original...)

NEXT FALL will and should win Best Play. That's just a given.
There are so many talented actors and actresses on Broadway this season. Whether you think their shows are good or bad, you have to admit they are doing a wonderful job. It is extremely hard to pick who I think should be nominated let alone win!

Because this started out as a thread for uninformed opinions - I'll add Levi Kreis for best featured in a musical. I haven't seen Million Dollar Quartet, but I'm a fan of Kreis' and I"d just like to see it!

^ Those seem kind of far off.

There is very little chance that Finian AND Ragtime will both be nominated. Same goes for Noll and Baldwin.

Based on what I saw, Jackie Hoffman has a real shot at the Tony for Addams Family. Kevin Chamberlain will probably score a nom as well.
Raul's gonna win best actress.

American Idiot isn't an original score it can't win much less be nominated
Aaron Lazar will most certainly be nominated for A Little Night Music. Also, Bobby Steggert will be remembered for his work on Ragtime (possibly the only nomination the long-closed production will receive).

American Idiot isn't an original score it can't win much less be nominated
They haven't ruled on that yet. It could be eligible, as the producers could make the same argument the producers of The Who's Tommy did- which was not only declared eligible, but won (well, tied with Kiss of the Spiderwoman).

I remember that the producers of Tommy got the score declared eligible because of Townsend claiming in print at some point in the work's history that he had intended the score for the stage. (Hope that made sense). I think the category's full title is Best Original Score Written for the Stage. I'm not sure that American Idiot will be able to make the same claim. We could end up with only two scores being eligible this season: Addams Family and Memphis.
Thinking about featured actor in a musical ... you could fill the category with just actors in the spring musicals. Upcoming, there's Kevin Chamberlain in Addams Family, Robin de Jesus in La Cage aux Folles, Tony Goldwyn, Dick Latessa in Promises, Promises, not to mention any featured cast members in American Idiot and Come Fly Away (not sure who is being buzzed about in those two shows). Depending upon where the guys in Million Dollar Quartet get classified, the actor who plays Jerry Lee Lewis is also supposed to be great. So... I'm not sure whether that will be such an easy category to predict the nominees until more of the spring shows are here.
HAHAHA! Love looking back at what people think before a show even opens and is seen by critics and the general public. The Addams Family was hands down one of the strongest picks along with Spider Man just a few months ago to win Best Musical.
Oh don't write Spiderman off yet. When Julie finishes her time machine next week. travels back a year with the winning Power Ball Numbers and gets the financing making it open in March then we will see who is laughing on Tony night!
I believe that Ethel Merman will pull out a surprise win in all four acting categories for her performances as Hamlet in Hamlet, Uncle Fester in The Addams Family, Desiree in A Little Night Music, and Madame Armfeldt in A Little Night Music. Yes, she played both because she's just that good.

Is that uninformed or just crazy? I walk a very fine line sometimes.

I fully expect myself to be nominated for Score, Leading AND Featured Actor as well as Lighting and Costume Design.

Uninformed. You forgot to mention Merman's artistic triumph as Corey in Fences.

How could I forget! Well, I have only heard about it. I wasn't so lucky as to see it yet.
