Yup, the Tonys are only eight months away, and you know what that means...RIDICULOUSLY UNINFORMED TONY PREDICTIONS! Yaaaaaay. Have at 'em, folks. These shows may not even be opening ever, but let's have a little fun.

I'd always assumed Mme. Armfeldt is a "Featured Actress" slot...
Regardless, I like your list. It is both safe and daring, as well as aesthetically pleasing.

No way that Umoh will get a nomination as leading actress, if any Ragtime cast member winds up in that category, it'll be Christiane Noll. Plus, Sarah's a featured role.
And Evelyn has, like, two spoken word scenes and her songs are performance songs.

Yeah, thanks. I don't know Ragtime too well.
I'm keeping Lansbury in Leading because she's above the title and getting top billing.

This reminds me of the Oscar prediction threads that start the day after the Oscars. Who is the guy who always has something to add based on some sort of tomato system? Oh, I truly pity my memory.
I think Stephanie Umoh has a great chance at Featured. Christine Noll is most definitely getting nominated and will most likely win.
Namo - Do you mean based off of rottentomatoes.com? I don't know who the user is; sounds like Cruel Sandwich.
Was Hermione Gingold billed above the title for the original production of A Little Night Music? I can't imagine Lansbury getting a leading actress nod.
Madame Armfeldt is a featured role. Frederik is a leading role. You may want to change that.

Gingold was nominated for Featured, and Cariou for Leading.

Musical - Addams Family
Revival - My $$ is on Ragtime, if only as an apology. I'd vote for La cage.

Allison Pill!!!!!!!!! Thank You!!!
...I couldn't remember her name all day.
Barbara Cook will be a leading contender in the
Lead Actress category, and expect more nods for
SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM, which will unfortunately
be refered to on the board as S.O.S.
The Addams Family - Best Musical
Ragtime - Best Revival of a Musical
Christiane Noll - Leading Actress in a Musical
Angela Lansbury - Featured Actress in a Musical
Is American Idiot even confirmed yet?
I CAN'T wait to revisit this thread in May/June.

Haha, you mean for when everything that's closed before the new year gets snubbed?
I actually think Ragtime's best chances are Christiane Noll, Bobby Steggert and Quentin Earl Darrington with Noll winning.
I'd love if Kate Baldwin got recognition mainly because I've thought she should have been a star for a while now, but Finian's might be forgotten by June. (Though I do think Chris Fitzgerald has a good chance too)
If La Cage is exactly like the London version which its based on, then it's good but I might actually prefer Finian's.

I think given the out and out raves they've been getting for Brighton Beach, I think that Noah Robbins and Santino Fontana will be contenders in the Leading and Featured play categories, respectively.
Interesting comment RE: Frank Rich:
Interviewer: "I think it says something about gullible, unsophisticated standing-O audiences here in Seattle."
Rich: "You see, that never works. In Washingtonâ??which is incredibly unsophisticated, much more unsophisticated than Seattle or Chicagoâ??you got false information from the audiences and it was a disaster"
That is, this could be considered when using the 'Ragtime got rave reviews in Washington" kind of argument...
I'm surprised Ragtime is being considered the overwhelming front-runner. I could imagine once ALNM opens it may become a bit more even (or La Cage for that matter, but even so I could imagine it being RagtimeVS Night Music)
I hope American Idiot really does make it to Broadway. That would be awesome.

qolbinau, you do realize that Frank Rich was referring to Washington in the 1960s circa-Forum's tryout, right?
People in New York have already seen this production and given it standing ovations themselves. You may not like it, but doesn't mean you can preen over the out-of-context quote as support to your opinion.
