Douglas Hodge for the win.
Has ANYBODY seen The Royal Family?? Hello! Jan Maxwell for Leading Actress! They might as well engrave her Tony right now... okay, AT LEAST get her nomination certificate printed out.

Don't you think Terri White gets a Featured nom for Finian's? Just because of the feel-good story?

Na.
SO FAR the Featured Actress (musical) category seems extremely weak. I would not be surprised if another Night Music female sneaks in there, besides Angela.

I know these are supposed to be ridiculously uninformed and funny, but you're predicting someone, anyone from American Idiot to win Best Featured Actor in a Musical? Really?
They're also predicting a snub for Douglas Hodge and a win for John Gallagher, Jr. in Best Actor, so...

These are ridiculous and uninformed?
BYE BYE BIRDIE IS THE BEST REVIVAL! AND THERE IS NO BEST MUSICAL WINNER BECAUSE THERE IS NONE
From what I understand, the show has two supporting male roles. Considering there aren't that many outstanding supporting male performances this year, I am predicting one of those two roles will win. Tony nominations are as much as the role as it is the performance.
And obviously this whole exercise is throwing darts blindly until shows open and reviews come out. So, feel free to throw in your predictions. Or snipe. That would be easier.
Angela for the gold!

quick question.. a few years back weren't they at one time considering a "Best Replacement" award? what ever happened with that?
i vaguely remember an article coming out around the time Tim Curry left Spamalot but I can't find it

They had one back on '05. Only Jonathan Pryce for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Harvey Fierstein for Fiddler were nominated. There was some controversy (I forget what it was), it was a disaster, it never happened again.
The award never happened. It was scrapped before it could be anything. There were never any nominees.

I do wonder who is going to win the Lead Actress in a Musical award. There seems to be no favorite as of now in the way that people like Patti LuPone, Alice Ripley, Christine Ebersole et al were hyped up and pretty much a foregone conclusion by the time their shows were even announced to come to Broadway. I'd love to see Catherine Z. Jones add a Tony win to her credits, I imagine the competition will come down to Jones, Barbara Cook (who could win just for being a veteran), and Kristin Chenoweth.
I'm rooting for Michelle Pawk-style wins for Christiane Noll and Christopher Fitzgerald. :)

I do wonder whether Noll or Baldwin will get that slot.
I would not be surprised at all, ljay. I think Noll is more of a possibility, but if voters go gaga over (and remember) Finian's Rainbow, Baldwin could get in.
