The rich and full cast recording that will inevitably come from this is what I’m most excited for. I love the voices on the OBC, but the mixing put the vocals in the back. I was listening to Joshua Henry’s performance in Carousel yesterday and it was a dream.

DeBessonet said the Lincoln Center Theater production would be large-scale, with 33 onstage actors and a 28-piece orchestra, and a physical production that will be more elaborate than that at City Center, where the stage is less deep and the run was shorter. “We’re not translating to a naturalistic set, trying to depict every location in the show,” she said, “but the staging and the design have to evolve to meet the space.”"
Thank you! Fingers crossed...

My goodness, a 28-piece orchestra of this gorgeous score and Joshua Henry singing his face off. I'm already emotional.

Just curious about what you mean about the mixing? Backing vocals? Not sure if there’s a typo or if I’m not reading well today.

If you were to see this & the rumored Chess revival in the same week, or back to back over 2 days, what order would you see them in?
Or would you space them out more, and see something lighter like Just in Groff in the day between?

Chess then Ragtime. As wonderful as Chess is, it would be a letdown if you saw it after Ragtime. Ragtime will send you out absolutely flying.

Sorry - just that the vocals sound far away and beneath the score.
