The show aims to reopen to normal capacity measures, subject to social distancing relief, from June 5th 2021
Every West End show that’s currently on sale post-April is selling seats assuming social distancing won’t be needed.
I’m also jealous they get to return to the theatre on Saturday... ![]()

We are lucky, lucky we have the producers and creatives willing to pretty much do it for not much profit bar minimal fees!
I think we will see a number of larger shows that were running prior to pandemic and essentially waiting to come back in full, announce their firm plans to reopen between April and July.
However, the other half of the battle to reopen, and be successful, is London back with tourists...

I'm curious when NYC Phantom will reopen!

If at all, my guess is 2022.
Hogan, ALW will drain his bank account to ensure PHANTOM keeps its “longest running” title on broadway.
Ha. You could be right and he might have to. I don't think he will be getting a donation from CamMac. The more interesting aspect could be the Shuberts, although a lot of water has to flow under some bridge before that manifests. Of course, the West End aspect will be even more interesting to watch.

Even if PHANTOM closed now, shows like "Chicago" and "Lion King" would have to run almost 10 years to catch it -lol
Just been announced that Killian Donnelly is taking on the title role for the June 2021 reopening. Donnelly was playing the role in the UK tour before it was forced to close early.
I am hearing the beat of two drummers. I think all we can do is hide and watch.
They have a built in marketing campaign, with the lead being masked and all.

So Cameron confirms the horse statue is being brought in to replace the lowering of the Angel. And he had the nerve to say that that was what Maria envisioned. Wow. It's been well-established that the Angel was her favorite set piece.
Still curious if the beautiful, heavy curtains will be replaced with cheaper versions. And the chandelier.....who knows what that will look like or if it will rise and fall to/from the stage.

Where did you see that the horse is replacing the angel? The horse will feature in the descent to the lair, as it was originally supposed to, but was cut in original technical rehearsals.
I wonder if there are plans to reduce the number of musicians in the pit? I wouldn't be surprised.

Tag, the new 2020 UK tour got rid of the Angel entirely and had the Phantom hide behind an onstage horse. Seems that Cameron has been trying to get rid of the Angel for years and he is finally getting his chance.
The horse that Christine was supposed to take on the travelator still is not happening either.

I agree the show could use a bit of an update so I think they’ll do it tastefully.

Given that CamMack is behind it, I think they'll do it as cheaply as possible.
