Chicago Revival with Ute Lemper & Ruthie Henshall.

I second the Chicago revival. It has way more dialogue, the complete versions of the songs, Roxie's Soliloquy and the act one finale. If they had included some of the trial scene it would have been more than perfect, but there's barely any space left on the disc so I can see why they may have chose not to.

I like Ruthie and Ute but most of the other performances on that disc leave me cold.

CAROUSEL revival from the 90's.....love it. It's so beautiful...especially "If I Loved You." It's so haunting and so tragic....love the fact that they kept some of the spoken dialogue in the recording.

Bobby-
I thought the London's Mama Morton ( I dont know her name bec. when I transfered all my cast recording to my iTunes- I did not even bother to put their names ) was more brassier than Marcia Lewis.
I also enjoyed the Cell Block Tango more on the London Cast- the ensemble are more dramatic and over the top - which I really like !

In my opinion, the London Cast Recording of Sunset Boulevard is far superior to the US/LA recording.

I happened to have the 3 cast recording of Sunset Boulevard-
London- Patti Lupone
LA/Broadway- Glenn Close
Canada-Diahann Carol
I actually like the US Version better bec. I like Glenn Close's over the top rendition, but definitely Patti has a better voice- I cant wait to see her in GYPSY (hopefully?)
I like Sunset Boulevard & Aspect of Love- probably the only two Lloyd Weber's Musicals - that I like !

Have you heard the OBC? Mary McCarty's Mama can't be beat!
I too, also prefer the Patti London Sunset.

IRENE with JULIE ANTHONY and JON PERTWEE. Great additional songs "I CAN DREAM CAN'T I" and "UP THERE ON PARK AVENUE".
"Your eyes..... they shine like the pants on my blue serge suit"

That London 'Irene' is on the top of my wish list for CD release.
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!''
Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

I prefer the London recording of Into the Woods if only for Our Little World (and yes I know it was added to the revival album). Also I enjoy the tempo of Giants in the Sky more.

I don't necessarily like it more than the Broadway version (nothing beats the brilliance of Bernadette Peters), but the London recording of Sunday In the Park with George is quite good.

Passion!
The London Recording is just glorious!

...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

I happen to love the OLC of "A little Night Music", the tempos are different, it's a bit lighter.
Plus I second City of Angels.
The OLC of "Stop the World..." has enormously more energy in it, probably because Tony Newley is even younger there.

I found the recent Sunday... recording far superior to the OBC.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
