Pardon me if there is a thread already on this topic - i couldn't source it

What shows, if any, are rumored to be coming to Broadway?

Dreaamgirls? The Ferryman? Network? Pinnochio? Barnum?

I feel like Dreamgirls and The Ferryman will still for sure come in. Also I’d love it if Ink and Girl from the North Country could mak it’s way over here

Of course, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is on its way.

Dreamgirls was just 'good'. I'm not sure it will make its way to Broadway. Michael Bennett's original was far superior and I suspect that Producers won't want the negative comparison. Then again, it is Casey Nicholaw. In fact, I saw it because of Mr. Nicholaw's name being attached. I was disappointed.

Looking forward to Yerma with Billie Piper which is coming in off Broadway.

So excited for Yerma!!!!

I don’t get the Casey love. I don’t think he’s great. And I think he’s the wrong choice for something like Dreamgirls. I mean how could he add a tap break for no reason?!

For me, it's hard to say no to a Dreamgirls production. I am too young to have been able to see the Michael Bennett production, I lived in a predominant Caucasian area, so we don't have regional theatres doing the show. I'd I'd love to see one. The 2009 production from the Apollo Theatre never made its way to my area either. I feel like for some people, we would love to be able to come to New York and see "Dreamgirls".

I understand. I don't want to hijack this thread and make it about the brilliance of Michael Bennett's Dreamgirls. It truly was a breathtaking production.

I hope The Ferryman makes it over; I actually have a question about that— is there a precedent for bringing children actors with an international transfer that uses the original cast? I can’t recall that happening so I’m merely curious. Not to say AEA would allow the cast to transfer (and not to say they won’t- I’m not priv to that conversation at all) but the only time I can think of that a massive play travelled with its entire original cast was August Osage County, and of course, there were no children. Just curious.

I live in London and The Ferryman transfer has been rumored since the Royal Court days - it makes sense though that they've been waiting, it would be tough to beat Harry Potter or Angels in America for major awards. It was an amazing cast but I don't think transferring the children or even the majority of them would be necessary to create a succesfull Broadway production. The direction and the play itself are the stars.

Girl From The North Country has been rumored since the early Old Vic days as well but it makes sense to test on the West End first.

Barnum's reviews were not particularly positive and Network needs a name to succeed. I enjoyed Dreamgirls but I can see why people have mixed opinions on it.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie got really good reviews - not sure if it'd succeed on Broadway but I wouldn't be surprised if they would try to get a US production rather sooner than later.

I'm really hoping Everybody's Talking About Jamie makes it to the US somehow. I got to see them perform at West End Live and it was fantastic. However, I'm not sure how well it would do over here

I feel like "Everbody's Talking About Jamie" could be a good match for 2nd Stage at the Hayes. New musical, not exactly commercial material, etc.

I think the current 42nd St. Starring Sheena Easton might make a transfer next year sometime...?

Barnum could transfer - throughly enjoyed it.  I dint know if Marcus (who i personally LOVED in the show) would be the right name draw but this production was a ton of fun ad exceptionally directed

i can't envision A CHRISTMAS CAROL transferiing despite it being one of the most moving and  magical nights at the theater.

maybe The Ferryman can come in now the Tracy Lets isn't going in.

I could also see Network transferring

Jamie should transfer - the show is a crowd pleaser and could get the DEH crowd plus the gays

seeing The Ferryman while in London - really enjoyed Jerusalem and given the critical response seems like I made a good choice

Don't know if it technically counts as a "London transfer" given that it's now played in the US... But how about Maria Friedman's Merrily? There was some buzz while it was in Boston, but has anyone heard anything more about it?

I heard wonderful things - and read equally wonderful things - about that production

I know OSLO was at National Theatre and now in West End - will that tour the US?

In regards to Oslo I think you're more likely to see the rights being released and it being produced by the major regional companies than you are to see a full blown national tour.

Surprised Oslo didn’t transfer to another Broadway house after its win.

I'm struggling to understand why people seem to think that Everybody's Talking about Jamie wouldn't be successful on Broadway. I think it would be a smash. How long has Kinky Boots been running now?

Everyone Talking About Jamie is fine.

However it won’t transfer as it would fail the first teat and that is would it gross $850k a week and I for one think not.

Martin McDonagh's Hangmen is coming to Atlantic Theater this month.  I believe it's the same production that won the 2016 Olivier Award for best play.  Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, really hoping Pinocchio transfers.
