re: Long Island Theater-Goers

Hey! I live near there. I saw Gentlemen Prefer Blondes last season and Aida a few years ago, both of which featured Elizabeth Stanley oddly enough. I'm excited to see their production of The Producers later this summer.

Great article, DollyPop. Quite informative!

Great article! Although a permanent resident of Nassau County, I frequent Gateway. I'll be there Wednesday evening for Beauty and the Beast!

Great article (no need to be said :) ).

I think I saw Jekyll & HYDE there with Alicia Irving and Brad Little soo many years ago. I was young too I don't even remember it all too much! I'll have to make another trip up there!

The Broadhollow theatre located in East Islip and Elmont also put on really good shows, and are also very affordable.

Lovely article. A question- what theatre out here (L.I.) is doing Grey Gardens this summer? I could of sworn someplace out east had plans.

re: Long Island Theater-Goers

Somewhere on the far eastern side by the south shore. I forget the name of it, but I saw an article on it in Newsday two weeks ago or so. The same actress playing Edith 1940s/Little Edie 1970s is also doing that theater's run of Light in the Piazza as Margaret.

If it makes any difference, the Smithtown Center and the BroadHollow theaters aren't EQUITY. The Gateway definitely is.

Then you saw my friend Nick Spangler play Jimmy. He had a good season at the Gateway that summer!

Sorry for the delayed response, Dollypop!! I was away from my PC all weekend. Anyway, it's really a small world, isn't it? I don't know anyone personally on the debsweb staff, but one of the women on staff did come down and audition for "Gypsy" last year in Queens, NY. I know a lot of people involved in the shows presented on debsweb, but no one that runs or writes for the website. It's a great site!!!

Great article Dollypop! And yes, Gateway is fantastic. I drove from Central Jersey to see Evita there a few years ago. It was a fabulous performance.
