I'm sure the interview was given before the New Yorker one dropped (and her comment about the Broadway community being supportive of each other and mentioning Audra and Patti in the same breath stands out now), but still wonder how many will criticize Farrow for saying anything nice about Lupone these days (especially if they don't actually read the article since it's behind a paywall).
Oh good, we’ve moved onto blacks can’t be racist, white fragility, and free Palestine. This thread is truly truly truly outrageous! Like Jem and the Holograms!

I think publishing this interview in its original form (that was clearly done before Patti's was released) is cruel. And a very weird thing to do to Mia Farrow, who I feel has been through enough.
I was turned off within five minutes of meeting Patti! Apparently she forgot she saw "In Transit" after we saw her in the audience and suggested it was someone who looked like her, referred to her savior Christopher Reeve as "the dead guy," and claimed to have no idea who Broadway colleague Telly Leung is. We had had enough of Patti and couldn't wait to say goodbye! As if we never said goodbye? We were glad to!

I refuse to read through this thread because I'm not interested in reading the most surface level and off-base takes on race and microaggressions from BWW users, and I already know it devolved into anti-Black nonsense within the first two pages.
Audra was just asked about in an interview with Gayle King, and she said she didn't even know there was a "rift" between the two of them and she hasn't seen her in over a decade because she's been booked and busy.
Unfortunate all around.
Rooting for Audra to win the Tony even more now just because!
I think she'll win the Tony after this, which is unfortuante. I don't see the reason to reward mediocrity.

There’s no sympathy voting for Audra because Patti was mean to her. The Tony is going to MAGA Nicole. Duh
Sorry for the Facebook clip, it's the first thing that popped up, but here's the Gayle King interview clip featuring Audra.

If Audra wins the Tony, I don't think it will have anything to do with this nonsense.

Nicole is not MAGA. I thought that was already proven and discussed at length. And now if Audra wins , her award would be tainted because of the doubt fools like you have casted. Did she win because someone else is accused of being Maga? Did she win as a sympathy vote because of the Lupone thing? And lets face it... Audra is not a good Rose.

And let's face it. Audra is the best Rose since Tyne Daly.
Nope. Lupone is. You don't get to re-write history.

Oh wow we’re at the point of the thread where people pretend they never liked Patti and her performances have always been sh*t. I didn’t think it’d reach that point until at least Friday.

Woosh.
Um while we here can I rewrite history too? Bernadette definitely sung the role better than Patti, right??? Right??? Everyone believes this now right :)?

If they haven’t seen each other in over a decade, according to Audra, then isn’t that confirmation that clearly they are NOT friends. Soooo what’s the issue…?
This is all so silly.

Audra said she hadn’t seen Patti in about 11 years. Would anyone like to take a guess as to when Audra won her 6th Tony?!

The issue is Patti thinks she can go around calling other Black performers bitches to no consequence. I hope she knows she's the biggest one of them all.

Child, this is a broadway chat board. Days before the Tonys. A Lupone scandal broke loose. If we can't chit chat about this.. then what? Go do boring stuff elsewhere.

We covered this earlier in the thread. She literally called Glenn Close a bitch in the same interview.
Aside from her performance in The Deliverance, last time I checked Glenn is white.
Patti is an equal opportunity offender.
THIS. IS. NOT. ABOUT. RACE.
I agree of course that Patti should be more sensitive, especially when talking about POC, but she won’t change. So let’s stop expecting her to.
