While possible, remember that Olivo is due to perform in Fun Home in Wisconsin at some point in fall 2018. I'm guessing she agreed to a summer Boston run because her 2 kids might have school off during that time. She talked several times about missing them and her husband during the Hamilton Chicago run.
What I mean is I believe JLP will extend almost immediately, thereby allowing more overlapping weekends with the run of Moulin Rouge. That just leaves potentially more viable options for a weekend in Boston.

Only 36 performances at Emerson. Does this mean it'll be in NYC before Thanksgiving?

Aiming for the first weekend! I have an Audience Rewards membership. Fingers crossed I can get a ticket.

At least as of now, I'd say that's a safe no since Karen Olivo's supposed to go in Forward Theater's production of Fun Home in her current hometown Madison, WI sometime in fall (I think Sept/October).
Edit : updated "she" to Karen Olivo.

Do we even know that the lab cast is even doing the Boston tryout?

Boston Globe is reporting no cast is attached.
I’m curious if Olivo sticks with this. Isn’t she now also attached to Chess down in DC next month? An exciting time to be her!
I just hope Tveit takes the role of Christian through to Broadway. Dreamcasting on steroids.
If Karen doesn’t go through with it, I hope Betsy Wolfe does! She would be phenomenal.

Is she a good dancer? Genuinely asking. I need Moulin Rouge to have a lead actress who moves like fluid (Karen Olivo is absolute perfection for this)

Agreed. I mean, Betsy did have that small cameo in the L5Y film, but that's not indicative of dance skill. That being said, who knows how "dancey" Satine will be. A sultry, fluid mover for sure, but I can't see her being a DANCER. Moreover, Betsy still has a voice that I don't think will work for this. It's still a cleaner Broadway belt, rather than pop/rock grit and it's obvious they went more pop/rock by casting Karen. And I can't imagine the lab cast won't do it. Of course anything can happen, but keep Karen and recast Aaron if they must. I still need a more "innocent, doe eyed" dude.
JennH - yep, that's what I meant to say - we need a person who has sultry, fluid movements for the stage character to work (unless they go in a remarkably different direction from the movie). Funnily enough, the first name that popped into my head was Katrina Lenk. She was easily my favorite part in The Band's Visit (Shaloub was out) and dear god she has some strong stage presence and moves like a snake. 30 years ago, Bebe Neuwirth would have been my choice. Hell, she can play the role now and I'd still go, lol.
Valentina, I’ve also thought about Katrina Lenk as Satine. She would be terrific.

They are charging $200 for the best seats on a weekend after it "opens", which is at the end of the run. Have any other out of town tryouts charged this much before?
Just snagged some AmEx seats. Surprised how aggressive these prices are for a Boston run.

$180 + fees for front orch/mezz? They have to be out of their freaking minds.
I was fully prepared to pay $150 per.
$16 in fees per ticket?!
Not going all the way to Boston without the best seats and $400 all in is nuts.

Got dress circle seats (second tier pricing) for the last day of performances. Really staggered by the prices here though - it's more than I paid for Boston Opera House seats, and the fees are nuts. Glad I've saved on Broadway seats for other shows this year or this would be out of my theater budget.
The fees, more than the ticket prices, floored me. I went for orch row R for 109 each which was more than I wanted to spend but $40+ in fees for 3 tickets is ridiculous. Oh well, it's done now and no regrets, LOVE this movie and I'm sure the show will be fantastic. Now to find a hotel in the area, I'm sure I'm going to faint when I see those prices.

I'm guessing she won't but I would LOVE to see Karen in this. Waiting to hear on casting before possibly buying tickets

Seems that a lot of seats were held back too. First 3 rows of orchestra were not available.
