But you realize, to be gobsmacked the prices to only pay those prices will ensure that they will keep selling tickets at those prices...

I got myself tickets to the first and second preview, and it looks like the early performances are selling rather well. I was surprised that my non-American AmericanExpress worked on the ATG Booking site, as it doesn't normally work on Ticketmaster, which I suppose only accepts AmEx cards issued in the US.
Can't wait for a casting announcement..Aaron Tveit seems to be all wrong to play the earnest and awkward writer. Karen Olivo is probably perfect, but I doubt she'd want to deal with the pressure of opening a Broadway blockbuster and building it from the ground up. Betsy Wolfe as Satine..I don't know. I think it might be necessary to cast a non-blonde, preferably POC to break the Nicole Kidman mold. Considering all the Bollywood references and motifs from the film before cultural appropriation became mainstream, it would be good to cast a South Asian actress in the lead.
If you really wanted to see the show and can't wait until it opens to all buyers next week, they are accepting prepaid Amex Cards. So if you run to one of the stores that sells them you could purchase. However, you get hit with another fee for buying the card which is about 4.95 or 5.95 plus the fees they charge you after you purchase the tickets.

I was reading that Moulin Rogue might not hit Broadway till 2019. Would this be right?
Wondering should I bite the bullet and book Boston.
Travelling from Europe so would prefer NYC to see multiple shows on a visit.
Any advice appreciated thank you

Purchased tickets for early July. I totally forgot about JLP. I'm hoping they extend so I can add that to my trip. But I am very excited about this.
I agree that the pricing seems very high and the fees?? Wow. The only reason I just did it is because my parents live nearby and I can stay with them.

I got my ticket for August 5 at 2pm and I am very excited!!
Over the past weekend, I attended BroadwayCon and attended a panel discussion about the history of the Colonial Theater in Boston. In attendance was Erica Lynn Schwartz, the general manager for the Colonial. I approached her at the conclusion of the panel discussion and asked why the seating map for Moulin Rouge showed row D as the first row? I have seen many shows at the Colonial and the front row can actually start with AA and BB, then row A and so on. On the seating chart for MR, it showed row D as the first row. I could only get as close as row G center. I asked her if I would be 9 or 4 rows from the stage? She smiled and said "You have greats seats." I then asked her if there would be rows in front of row D and she said "I can't say too much, but we have something special going on in that area."
Wonder what that could be?
I do remember from one of the cast member's IG story during the lab that it looks like they go past the stage, like a T-shape, so my guess is it'll extend over the pit down the center and then have a second playing space where the first few rows should be? This is from Alex Timbers, who turned the Winter Garden into a boxing ring, so...
I got a ticket for 7/19 8pm, Row N on an aisle. I'm excited that it'll only be 10 seats from whatever is happening on the stage. I've never been to this theatre, but ATG knows how to spruce up a place, so I'm sure it'll be great.

You are in for a treat! The Colonial is a wonderful and beautiful theater!
The T-shape at the end of the stage sounds cool. Very interesting....

Is the box office open or did you buy online?
Really hoping this transfers to Broadway for the 2018-2019 season.

I read somewhere that the same producers are backing King Kong and Moulin Rouge and therefore they don't want their two shows in the same season.
I'd only love for Moulin Rouge to arrive on Broadway next season for what it's worth..

A shame that you had to waste all that money on fees when you are so close to the theater.

I know frustrating.
Just got my tix and I couldn't be more excited! Any whispers on potential casting? I'm so interested to see who they get for these super fun roles.

Any news on this at all? Any chance of it arriving on Broadway by the end of 2018, I'd love to travel over for this and My Fair Lady.
Olivo, Tveit, and DANNY BURSTEIN!!!

Where's the ensemble since we know from Paloma's stories that they are already in rehearsal...
Burstein's "Like a Virgin" will be priceless. Maybe this will finally snag him a Tony?

Would have preferred Rebecca Jones and Corey Cott.
Totally not losing it. At all.
