I talk to Roxy recently, He and Mrs Roxy are doing well, God Bless them, but he is tired of all the bickering and bullying so he is taking a break for now. Can not say I blame him. Seems certain people jump all over him and other people for daring to have different opinion then them for no reason.
I told him a lot of people missed him and hope he comes back soon to share his amazing stories of Broadway and NYCs past like no one else can. Hopefully he will be back soon.

I like Roxy. He sent me nice private messages when I first joined. It's a shame he gets bullied on here so much. I also hope he comes back.

Yes hope to hear from Mr Roxy again on these boards! We didn't always agree (I love Hamilton!!!) but I liked to see what his opinions were. He was always very nice to me

He does not like hip-hop,so why would he spend 100s of $ for it?
If you do not like opera, you don not go to an opera. Its common sense.
In any event, his problem with Hamilton is less the show itself than the worship and endless hype of some of its fans.

He's not the only one who was soured by the Church of Ham. It's as basic as Starbucks these days.
As for Mr. Roxy I too have never got the hate. Heaven forbid he has opinions on things! I always enjoy his comments both public and private and am sad to hear he's finally giving up the board. Of course I take a break every once in a while too, hope he's back soon.

It's okay not to want to see Hamilton because you don't like hip-hop or whatever, but don't keep interjecting yourself into threads telling everyone why the show is overrated. Just keep your mouth shut. Roxy can't stand to have an unexpressed thought.
Plus, it's very easy to avoid the Hamilton threads. They say HAMILTON on them.

I think part of the conflict people had with him was his need to lament how much things cost and such. Over. And over. And over. I don't get why people don't just avoid threads on things they don't care for. I took a break from the boards when the Hamilton threads were non stop. For a while, even threads about other shows, would turn into Hamilton threads. I see where he's coming from but honestly, I think Roxy is often out to provoke people (even if he's unaware he's doing it). That may be where many have butted heads with him. I just don't see the point of constantly stating the same basic thought when you see an opening. His off topic posts are usually much more enjoyable, and I do miss his "Another One Bites the Dust" threads. We have had our share of words but I wish him no Ill will. I just think he often doesn't extend the same respect that he expects from others. His constant trashing of the Hello, Dolly! prices was exhausting. I get that a hamburger doesn't cost a quarter anymore.

In recent years, he would continuously say how little he cared about Broadway and how he didn't understand why people could be so fixated about the topic in light of what's going on in the world. Why would he actively be part of a board specifically devoted to a topic he no longer connected to?
And when he was at his most active, he was just as combative, bitchy, and opinionated as anyone here.

Nobody cared about his politics. His involvement in Hamilton threads, I believe, was just an example. He was like that on many threads. He'd take any comment that didn't agree with his AS bullying, or being mean to him, or not understanding his personal financial situation. He was always the victim.
Was/Is some of him knowledge of old broadway valuable? You bet.

I have no major problems with Roxy, but conversation on these boards is voluntary. Y'all need to relax. If you love The Rox so much, find a way to meet him for coffee or drinks or something. He doesn't need to be on here.

He's not as insufferable as a certain curmudgeon in this boat, but there is a tone of superiority that I don't think he's aware of.
