I wonder of him working on this is why the last book in the Another Day (Wicked Sequel) trilogy, which just came out in fall 2023--a year after the second book--was so bad. It read like a first draft that got thrown to the publisher before any revisions or edits.

The ‘Another Day’ books are greatly inferior to the original three ‘Wicked Years’ books.
