Well, if that's the case, I'd (probably not actually) kill to see Norbert as Dan. I've always seen him as a actor who happens to have a killer voice, and I'd love to see what he could bring to the role.

As I said earlier, Tony award winner Norbert Leo Butz would never be the 3rd replacement as Dan.

Doesn't matter, Adam. I'll continue to freely express my desire to see Norbert as Dan, Vanessa Hudgens as Natalie, and Corbin Bleu as Gabe.

So Daniely is playing Dr. Madden/Dr. Fine? Interesting...I had kind of assumed that half the reason he was cast as Dan (when that seemed to be the case) was because the powers that be thought it would be cool to have a real-life husband and wife playing husband and wife onstage. But I guess in actuality the doctors do make more sense for him, although he definitely could do Dan.

And if Norbert Leo Butz is being sought for Dan, he would be crazy to turn it down unless he has a TV show in the works or something. I don't understand the stigma attached to being a replacement, especially if it's a good role in a hit show.

I could have sworn in another similiar thread someone (I think adamgreer - maybe I'm wrong) said that Louis told them he was contracted until the end of the year. Don't quote me on that though...just heard it on a thread.

Another post in this thread said that Jason Danieley was going to play the Doctors, and I thought he would be starting the same day as Marin.

I would've LOVED to have seen Sherie take over but I know that would never happen. Im excited to see Marin though! She'll do it justice and who knows, maybe even better than Alice?

Am I the only who thinks the tone of Mazzie's voice is far too "classical" sounding for this score? I remain convinced that Jessica Molaskey would have been the ideal replacement from outside the show. Jason Danieley, on the other hand, seems an ideal fit for Dan.

I'm thrilled Jessica Phillips has an exciting new job, but it is a crying shame she isn't able to play Diana full time. While I found Ripley to be incredible in her own right, she established a level of characterization early on that I found to be rather stagnant throughout the rest of the show, where as Phillips conveyed a level of emotional poignancy that was infinitely more moving.

I'm also curious if Sarah Uriarte will come back to cover Mazzie when Phillips leaves. I would have killed to see her during her short time filling in before.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.

I've heard that a Mazzie/Daniely announcement might come before the week is out.

Judy Kuhn is a fine actress, but is even more classically sounding than Marin. She doesn't have a pop/rock belt in the way that Ripley and (to a lesser extent) Jessica Phillips do.

I have to disagree, and all I'll say is CHESS. Kuhn wrapped her voice around that rock score exquisitely.

Even listening to Kuhn opposite Mazzie here, she's definitely the earthiest and least legit sounding of the soloists:

Judy Kuhn definitely has a pop/rock belt. CHESS, METROPOLIS,THE SONGS OF LAURA NYRO, MARTIN GUERRE etc. Maybe Marin has that side to her voice too but I've never heard it.

Judy Kuhn's pop/rock belt can currently be heard in a small segment of Ricky Ian Gordon's Sycamore Trees at the Signature Theatre (DC). I second whoever said that he/she would like to see her take on Diana.
