Long article from former editor of Playbill but there were some interesting tidbits:
Had I heard of the alleged gay sex party full of Broadway stars that you love and adore. This reporter had not. They get together and have sex with newcomers, Mark Peikert said. This is second-hand information, I have not been invited myself. At the end of the night, there are party gifts. So, one bottom [a sex partner who prefers getting penetrated] reaches into the bowl of gifts and plucks out his prize. King Lear tickets! he shouted.
Peikert laugheda hearty roar, really. Imagine that. Youre a bottom and youve gotten ****ed at a group sex party. And now you have to sit on your ass for four hours and watch Glenda Jackson as King Lear!
Since he left Playbill, Peikert has been teasing on Twitter that he will reveal scandals and name names. So far, there has been much stirring of the pot but no substantial dish. The tension between revelation and discretion, wit and fury, is visible in both Peikerts tweets and conversation.
In our interview, as well as talking about the alleged celebrity orgy, he mentioned the unnamed Broadway star, who unlike their peers, refused to donate their fees for appearing on Cameo videos to charity. Then there was the famous actress who, in a discussion about dialects, brought up what she called the gay voice.
I was so taken aback, said Peikert. The worst thing my mother ever drilled into me was politeness, and to never make someone feel uncomfortable even if they had made me feel wildly uncomfortable as this actress had. I wanted to say, What do you mean, the gay voice is a dialect?
He was interviewing one male Oscar winner when said Oscar winner placed his hand on Peikerts upper thigh and kept it there. I was so taken aback that I did that thing of Oh well, our legs are under the table. Maybe he thinks my thigh is his, or he did realize, and didnt want to remove his hand to insult me. Later, he walked past me ostentatiously into the restroom. I thought, Does he think, at this really very public office space, that I am going to follow him into the bathroom?

Not sure how I feel about him telling tales with no proof to back him up. Opinions?

Anyone working in his position will have plenty of horror stories. When you have a job like that and interview industry folks, you get to see how truly crazy and wretched some people in the biz can be. But you do also get the opposite, and learn who has kept a level head and kind heart.
I do think he should differentiate the difference between exposing someone's poor behavior vs just sharing gossip. For instance, the part you quote about the sex party isn't bad/entitled/rude/bigoted/etc behavior. Consenting adults are allowed to have sex, and can do so with as many other consenting adults as they please. Some might think its juicy or scandalous, but spoiler alert: Broadway actors have sex too.
Other "tales" he has disclosed on his twitter actually talk about ridiculous and/or horrific behavior. But since he has yet to name a single name in any of them (even the ones where its pretty obvious or easy to figure out who he's talking about), he hasnt really done anymore than you would hear in any industry office or watering hole. He's just taking it online.

Why would they delete this? He’s on the record with a publication saying it.

Exactly. Those who rejoice on being cryptic and ambiguous just look like overly bitter dramatic people with no real story. Either say what you have to say or wait to say it.

In one brief interview,he's managed to make both theatre AND gay porn boring. Just like every other drunken, bitter old queen that you used to see sitting alone at the bar at Therapy at last call!

plus there is really nothing teased that people would say "I've never heard of anything like that before." Without spilling the names (and I am not saying he should), what he has written is a waste of bandwidth.

You’re so conflicted that you promote/share/broadcast it further?

I was asking for others' thoughts on the subject. That's all.
Are you having a bad day? You seem stressed.

Chill with the condescension... You said you have mixed feelings about him spreading unverified stories — and then proceed to start a message board thread to spread them further. Just thought it was funny.
